+1 and it’s pretty obvious but the president does not have actual control over large segments of the executive branch. At best he is a voting member in the government
Yeah I GREATLY, VASTLY overestimated the powers a president has.
Seemed like obummer had a lot.
Look, guys & gals, it's time to face some honest truths here: Trump isn't the guy. Who remembers Edward VI? No one, a brief footnote in history, eclipsed by Elizabeth. However, at the time of his death at age 15, Lizzie was still considered a bastard, while Eddie was fully expected to surpass his father (Henry VIII) and transform England into a militant protestant state. But timelines have a way of providing twists and turns, don't they? As it turns out, the final convulsion didn't occur even after Charles I was executed. Nope, it wasn't until 1688 (Glorious Revolution) that the England we know today was formally cemented into place.
So true Trump - he will have turned out to be the first salvo, a clown prince who identified schism, crafted a tight media message and exploited sentiment to satisfy his own ego. But he's not "the guy"; that's someone else down the line, someone more in line with Matt's work (of fiction).
