The FBI is now investigating six mysterious deaths of seemingly healthy Americans who died suddenly at one of two resorts in the Dominican Republic within the past year. ~snip~
US State Department officials have issued a travel advisory for American tourists heading to the DR, telling vacationers to exercise 'increased caution'.
'Violent crime, including armed robbery, homicide and sexual assault is a concern throughout the Dominican Republic,' the advisory stated on April 15. 'The wide availability of weapons, the use and trade of illicit drugs, and a weak criminal justice system contribute to the high level of criminality on the broader scale.'

I saw that one Lady had taken drink of a 7UP from the Minibar and spit it out instantly because it tasted like bleach.
With no Toxicology being done that makes it an EASY way to do to an item and not be noticed and/or detected.???
The official response from the Dominican Republic is alarmingly pathetic. For the couple who died May 30, they postulated that their blood pressure did them in- together.
Seriously, who would believe they both OD’d on Lisonpril or that their hearts simultaneously ‘exploded’ at the same time.
And while there’s a rash of hotel deaths in a small period of time with a mini-bar connection, officials have no interest in swabbing the drinking glasses, bar containers or running a toxicology report on the deceased.
The tourist woman that was recently assaulted and left for dead in some Caribbean resort, was that incident also in the DR?
If you want to hear some politically incorrect things about the Dominican Republic, ask a Puerto Rican.
The Bahamas is just like the South Bronx. I would not venture into the city.
That method of introduction sounds plausible. See post #8- organophosphate poisoning. It could also be different fatal drugs by the same perp.
The cover up begins
And if the palm tree tourist wants to go slumming for the day, or clubbing at night, we got that too!
“FBI is a criminal enterprise.”
So the families of the deceased should hire their own PI firm to investigate, assuming they can afford the fees?
I wonder if any non-Americans died during that time due to mysterious causes?
I looked at a table of tourism to the Dominican Republic by country in 2017, and the USA and Canada are at
United States 2,073,963
Canada 827,721
Germany 265,709
Russia 245,346
France 221,492
Argentina
Spain 177,993
United Kingdom 177,534
This sounds like someone with an axe to grind against Americans. If it were just against white people or tourists, you would expect at least someone from one of the other countries to be affected. But it looks like all Americans in the article that I could see.
That, and Mexico.
Ah. I didn’t see your post there...I thought the same thing.
But, you might have to deal with Florida Man...
I went for a week to Freeport back in 1985 or 1986, and our hotel was in a walled, barbed wire compound.
I still went out, but...things that make you think twice.
Beware Miami

The 38-year-old Mississauga waitress had gone on holiday to an all-inclusive Dominican Republic resort, looking for some fun and sun and a chance to get away from her problems. Instead, she says she was kidnapped from a bar in Puerto Plata, drugged, robbed and raped on her last night in the country.
yeah, but, Florida Man
the DR is just upscale haiti
You might have a point. Personally though, I prefer the most egregious Floridiots to a Caribbean version of Russian roulette.
Indeed, me too. Florida has many lovely “not a resort, but darn nice place to hang out” places. Get away from the bigger tourist traps, and don’t take too much sun or alcohol!
