Deceased mobster James “Whitey” Bulger revealed his thoughts about President Donald Trump and Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation in a series of letters written to a juror who voted to convict him.
The handwritten letters, obtained by NBC News, touched on a variety of issues, but politics was a topic the “notorious Boston crime boss returned to again and again,” NBC reported.
“Trump is tough and fights back instead of bowing down to pressure — and caving in to press!” he wrote in a letter dated August 2018, just two months before he was murdered by fellow inmates at West Virginia’s USP Hazelton. “U.S. agrees with him press attacking and his reaction increases his popularity — He has my vote so far.”
Another August letter called Trump “the man of the hour” before weighing in on negotiations with China. “Feel China respects him and hesitant to try to bully him,” he wrote.
Bulger wrote 75 letters to Janet Uhlar, who served on the 2013 jury that convicted the former Boston mobster for murder and racketeering, over a five year period, NBC reported. The Cape Cod nurse and former juror felt the deals mobsters who testified against Bulger received were too lenient. While Bulger was at first skeptical of Uhlar’s stated wish to hear his story, the two eventually became friends.
“I get some strange mail at times — a grandmother from Kansas — hates Trump wants him ‘impeached,'” wrote Bulger in another letter. “She assumes I hate him? Why Because I’m in prison?”
“My bet is he’s happy with present wife and settled down,” he continued, referring to scandals surrounding the president. “No way would he wind up in Oval Office with a Monica Lewinsky — That was a scandal! Same media that attacks Trump would cover up for Bill Clinton.”

Very interesting. Never heard of a situation where a juror convicts a felon of murder, sending him to jail for the rest of his life and communicating with him over the years. A study for psychologists one would imagine.

This is nothing. When I became a correction officer in NY State, my first facility was Auburn. Winston Moseley, who murdered Kitty Genovese in 1964 was there. In 1968, while incarcerated at Attica, he stuck a lightbulb up his ass, and had to be taken to the outside hospital in Buffalo, to have minor surgery to remove it. While being transported back to the facility, he hit the officer who was carrying the weapon (only one officer carries a weapon during transport, so the other officer can deal with the hand and leg cuffs), and stole the weapon. He escaped, and later took refuge at a vacant home of an elderly couple. When they came to check on the house, he took them hostage for three days. Tied up the man, and repeatedly raped the wife.
During the 3 years I spent at Auburn, the woman he raped came to visit him at least once a week, and would bring him packages, and leave him money. The human mind is a very strange thing. God only knows why she did it.
Mosely eventually ended up at Auburn, and worked in the Administration Building as a porter. I've been retired since 2003, and to this day, I have never been able to understand how someone convicted of a brutal, violent murder (Kitty Genovese), who escaped custody, took hostages, and raped a woman repeatedly, ever got a job working in the Administration Building, (which is actually situated outside the wall), and where a large majority of female civilians work. The F'er finally died at Clinton Correctional Facility in 2016. I hope he's rotting in Hell.
Bulger played the system, and he and Mueller played each other. I’d like to know exactly what specific things Mueller and the FBI got from Bulger all those years, that would justify leaving four innocent men sitting in prison for over 30 years. Obviously, Bulger couldn’t have provided him that much information, if a Judge rewarded the three remaining men $110 million dollars. Bulger may have been killed because he was a snitch, but he also could have been killed because he knew too much about Mueller’s tactics and techniques, and became a threat during the investigation. I wouldn’t put anything past the FBI or the Deep State these days.

But sounds like a strange case of Stockholm Syndrome with that raped woman coming to visit regularly.
I'm sure there are other instances of victims befriending their attackers behind bars. It was the only instance I came across during my career. Then there's the women who marry convicted serial killers. Boggles my mind.
Mueller had Bulger killed because he supports Trump.....
He was a cruel looking man but small of stature and had plucked his eyebrows as I recall, a very unusual thing back then. I don’t doubt you’re right about that.
