Political pressure is the only way to get this done. These tech companies and massive social media platforms are the new public square and do not count as private companies. They are excluded from libel laws like a phone company.

Economic pressure will not phase them one bit.

Get woke go broke is a myth

Would it be tinfoil-hattish to wonder if the social media giants are a ‘community’ that has been successfully organized, and at an extraordinarily high level?

I would describe it as a “toast to crony capitalism”.

Twitter, FB, Youtube and others have become so ingrained into American culture and such a defining aspect of todays society that they are comparable to a public utility, without which one cannot even begin to even think of competing.

These platforms literally control public opinion so that control of them equals control of public opinion and media deplatforming and/or demonitization is taking place alongside of leftists trying to get credit card companies to literally do no business with conservatives.

At what point will people say “no more” to this?

When you can’t even advertise your business?

We control the crypto currencies.

We control credit cards.

We control all advertising that amounts to anything.

We will ban you from buying groceries, ban you from speaking, ban you from advertising your business, ban you from existing much less living.

Yet some hard-core Libertarians keeps saying for them “Muh platform.”

These tech companies are now akin to a public utility.

Their mindset is obviously:

1. If you disagree with us, we hate you.
2. Therefore, anything you say that makes us disagree with you can be considered hate speech and will be banned.

As usual, our President is right.

Nah. Anyone who’s been around as long as you have isn’t going to get the scrutiny a noobie would. As to the pic, anyone who thinks the GOP is controlling Trump has to explain why the GOP doesn’t back him up.

They banned and de-platformed Alex Jones at the same time. You don't do that without coordination.

On one had I agree but on the other Twitter is not a government entity but a private corporation so what about the right of a baker to refuse to bake a cake for a gay marriage? Doesn’t Twitter have the right to refuse speech with which it disagrees?
