My female wife and I (male), both of us heterosexuals, happen to live in a community of several of this counter culture. With it being such a small town we have learned that its an over and under thing. Over about age 40 tend to support republicans and under 40, the democrats.
Hmmm... what with the proliferation of new pronouns, maybe it’s time to abandon the old heteronormative nouns like “husband” and “wife,” except as they pertain to cis-gendered heterosexual couples. Maybe “hisband” for cis-gendered male couples...we’d need one for cis-gendered lesbians, too. Cis-//trans- couples could be something else. I think it would really help to clarify and streamline the language, to better reflect the inclusive times which we find ourselves living in
