Medicare For All Rally Organizers Blame American Medical Association As ‘Major Reason’ People Aren’t Covered

Doctors, nurses and others who support Medicare for all protested the American Medical Association’s stance against a single-payer health care system at the association’s annual meeting in Chicago Saturday.

“The AMA is a major reason why 28 million Americans still don’t have health insurance. … By deploying powerful lobbying and misleading media campaigns, the AMA has opposed or hijacked nearly every health reform proposal of the last century, from Social Security to Medicare to the Affordable Care Act,” rally organizers wrote in an op-ed in The Guardian Thursday. “Medical students and professionals have had enough.”

The House’s Medicare for all plan would apply Medicare-like coverage to all U.S. citizens within two years of its passage, according to the Washington Examiner. The plan, introduced by Democratic Reps. Pramila Jayapal of Washington and Debbie Dingell of Michigan, would be more extensive than Medicare in its coverage of mental health, addiction treatment, dental care and more.

Organizers expected several hundred participants at Saturday’s rally, spokeswoman Clare Fauke of co-host organization Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) told The Daily Caller News Foundation in an email Friday.

They are total idiots. In countries with socialized medicine everyone suffers: Patients don’t get the needed care and doctors income are fixed at a low level.

Odd, that claim. Most of the Docs in the hierarchy of the AMA are hard core Leftists who no longer work as doctors.

Single payer health care is working fantastically well in Canada. In Canada you're lucky to get a hip replacement within 6 months of having been shown to deserve one.And there's at least one kind of heart operation in Canada where one can wait up to a year to have it done.

In Canada everyone's entitled to mediocre health care delivered when government bureaucrats are good and ready to deliver it to you.

OK, so I paid into Medicare over the years to be eligible for it now. I know a woman who taught who had to work for several years after her retirement because she hadn’t paid enough into Medicare to be eligible. But everyone gets in within two years? And it’s going to have more extensive coverage than Medicare has now? Medicare takes my Part B monthly payment out of my Social Security, and of course I have to pay for my Supplemental plan as well as a separate dental plan.

How is this Medicare-for-all going to be paid for? We certainly can’t expect our new “guests” from Central America to pay for it and neither can our home-grown poor be expected to pay. Hmm, who does that leave?

And I "expected" to make a million by time I was 30. Let's talk about the reality, not the expectation.

You people lead the way. Use your money and give it to someone who never put anything into Medicare.

Show us that your going to give your money first.

Read Cancer Ward by Solzhenitsyn. Doctors and nurses took bribes usually Vodka. Otherwise you wouldn’t be seen and your bed wouldn’t be changed.

Only about 20% of docs are AMA members. Old school guys.

Most members are corporate interest groups. It’s a sham.

I know of two verifiable cases where when the patients, who were on Medicare and, died the guberment came in a took everything from the family to cover the bills. One was my uncle. They striped the bank accounts and put a large lien on the property. The same on a guy behind me. They put a large lien on the property for more than the property is worth.

So putting everyone on Medicare is only a ruse that enables the guberment to steal your property.
