NAPA, Calif. (KCRA)
PG&E shut off power early Saturday to 1,600 customers in the North Bay amid hot, windy conditions to reduce the risk of wildfires.
Affected areas are:
Napa County: Portions of unincorporated Napa County and Lake Berryessa
Solano County: Portions of Suisun City, and unincorporated areas near Vacaville and Winters
Yolo County: Unincorporated areas near Davis and Winters
The shutoff is part of the Public Safety Power Shutoff program to reduce the risk of wildfires.
The National Weather Service issued Red Flag Warnings on Friday for the parts of the Central Valley and North Bay Area, leading PG&E to consider the shutoffs.

And it's not even summer yet.
Just wait until a major metropolis is cut off in August.
Yep, just the beginning. Gonna be a long hot summer.
They’ve got their choice...either let PG&E clear the dead brush along their power line rights of way (which they won’t) or else embrace the suck (which they will).
“So’s I seen this fire and grabbed the garden hose to put it out. But no water. See - them water comes from our well that’s got an electric pump in it.”
Insanity
Power outages as a management tool, used by a socialist government. Now where have I heard that before?
With enough hot, windy weather here in NorCal this summer, PG&E will go broke keeping its grid shut down, so it can’t be sued into receivership. It’s a goner either way, and the sooner it goes out of business, given the way it’s been run for a number of years, the better. Unfortunately, its replacement will be The Gavin Newsom No Power Company! Glad we did two things,1) Buy a generator and 2) another home in Nevada.
“Power outages as a management tool, used by a socialist government. Now where have I heard that before?”
Yep, that’s what occurs to me as well. Similar to frequent school lockdowns and the police shutting down entire neighborhood blocks for various reasons.
Paradise Lost ——really lost.
Good point
Ve-ve-ve...Venice? Umm, Vena Cava? Vietnam? Voivodina?
I hope the first cut off is Palousy’s winery especially during grape crush.
I don’t blame PG&E at all.
These people that won’t let PG&E do the required Maintenance on their Right O Ways. ..then turn around and file lawsuits?
Carma time baby. PG&E told them months ago what was going to happen. I’ll say this, PG&E is one of the fairest and finest companies that I ever contracted for and they provide a tremendous service to their customer base.
The are Truly a Great organization.
I wish PG&E would run a Generac commercial twice a day, - just as a courtesy to the folks that want it both ways.
Way to GO PG&E! I don’t blame you one bit!
Threatening to sue your (monopoly) power company into oblivion has consequences.
Judge overrules FERC claim of higher jurisdiction than bankruptcy court. May allow PG&E to avoid honoring contracts related to state mandated inclusion of solar and wind sourced electricity.

Although sometimes it's hard to tell the difference!
This where a Generac whole-house generator would come in handy. We got one a few years ago and theyre worth their weight in gold.
Brought to you by any two some Newsom.
Due to the environmentalist and bureaucrat rule makers, PG&E has no possibility of clearing any brush .... it’s all a scam.
