Fair Oaks Farms Apologizes After Video Surfaces Of Workers Abusing Calves; 4 Employees Fired
CHICAGO (CBS) The owners of an Indiana dairy farm are apologizing after undercover video released by an animal rights group showed workers kicking, beating and throwing around newborn calves. The video was filmed at Fair Oaks Farms, a popular destination for school field trips and tourists about 75 miles southeast of Chicago.
The video was filmed by a member of Animal Recovery Mission, which had an undercover investigator get a job at Fair Oaks Farms from August to November of last year in order to expose animal cruelty.
The footage shows workers dragging calves by their ears, including off the side of a farm cart, throwing calves into small plastic isolation hutches, hitting calves with milk bottles, kicking calves, beating them with branding irons and steel rebar, and force-feeding the animals to the point they cant breathe.
This is stupid management. They deserve to go bankrupt."

Not a Hoax - I live near Fair Oaks Farms - the locals have known for a long time the Cows are mistreated. The cows live their entire life on a metal turntable and are made to stand in a very small space. The cows are never taken outside, never get to graze or even see Sunlight.
What’s the seemingly random reference to Coca Cola in the title?
I don’t see them mentioned in the story.
That and the other ceremonial and civil laws were abolished with the fulfilled ot prophecy of the Messiah. God’s original plan was perfect.. no death or killing. Sacrifice was necessary until Jesus Christ came to set that free.
Having said that, let me be clear.. dominion means yes for food, for daily provision in obedientGodly stewardship... no for son covering or pleasure.

Please be well .....
Lol.. son covering = sin covering. Thanks you and joyful blessings to you and yours.
Been there several times. This is surprising, and I would not be shocked to find that it was a hoax, set up by the folks with the cameras.
I thought you were joking. Goats and cow milk have been in the human diet for a very long time. Cheese, butter, ....
Health and kind treatment of animals and our environment are conservative principals. Eat what you want but I cringe when people rip that soybean of its mother. Disgusting and cruel.
That doesnt make it any less weird that you are breast-feeding off of another species. Why not dog milk? Horse milk?

Well, if you were concerned about health and treatment of animals, you wouldnt support the meat and dairy industry and the factory farming that goes with it. But I take it from your comment that you really are not concerned that calves are taken from their mothers at birth and not allowed to bond and not allowed to nurse. And that this kind of treatment is par for the course.
I have my own chickens for eggs. They are very happy in the wide open area. I raise my own pork with free range pigs that get lots of garden veggies. I have my own garden, blueberry, blackberry, pear, apple, peach, trees. Forgot the figs. I am a country boy on my own land so I know my animals. My dogs, cats play with and protect my land and farm animals. I dont need the vegan religion from city folks who think shopping on the organic isle is being socially responsible.
Glad your happy in your lifestyle but I will keep mine. No hard feeling. You do your thing and I will do mine. Thats our god given right.

Right, cause no species feeds off any other species

Stop assigning human emotions to animals. The animal kingdom is FAR harder on each other than we are or could be. That calf “torn away from its mother” would watch helplessly as “mother’ ran off from the wolf or coyote, leaving its precious kindred to be a meal.
Is what is shown on the videos hard to watch? Yes.
Is what is shown on that video necessarily hard on the animals? No
I grew up in the country, on dairy and horse farms. I also know that electricity does not come from the wall socket and oil has never come from dinosaurs.
What videos are those? Do you have a link or an article?
Okaay. But how did they get the animals to act their parts so convincingly? It would take months, and a lot of money for animal trainers to get those results out of young calves who aren't even months old.
Did you do everything your father told you to do? God doesn’t force compliance.
Oh, Lord, here we go again with FR's resident False Prophetess.
Exodus 23:12 Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant woman, and the alien, may be refreshed.Deuteronomy 22:10 You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
Deuteronomy 25:4 You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain.
Psalm 50:10-11 For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.
Proverbs 12:10 Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.
Proverbs 27:23 Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.
Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
Luke 14:5 And he said to them, Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?
You need to watch the video.
Sure, but remember that in reality, a shepherd doesn't keep the sheep as pets. They're food (and/or wool.)
That’s all advice on keeping them in good shape so that you don’t lose money on them. The only one of those that could really be said to be about compassion for compassion’s sake is the one you put in bold. That one is at least a tiny sliver of hope, but is there any remark upon a punishment for those who are cruel? No. Just a faint trace of disapproval. Hardly enough to say that those who are kind to animals are so because they were taught via religion. (The Amish in particular would stand as proof of that.)
“Yes God created Man and all things. He also gave men free will.”
That Bootijig guy (gay) said he was made queer by God.
Guess he , being a perv, doesn’t have free will ??
