YouTube essentially traffics in content. They sell ads as a way to profit from housing the content. YouTube, by the way, is now owned by Google. Many YouTube creators have entered into financial contracts with their frequent and popular posters so they will continue to provide new content in return for a portion of the revenue the ads on their page generate. That’s what is called “monetization”. YouTube has the power to demonetize individual videos or entire accounts based (usually) on content that may be deemed offensive or inciting violence.
Mark Dice, for example, still provides daily content but he know everything he posts, regardless how non-offensive, is going to be demonetized and others, like Steven Crowder, actually check with YouTube first before posting in case they feel anything posted violates their terms of service.
That’s not good enough for people like Vox.com’s Carlos Mata (formerly of Media Matters) and CNN’s Oliver Darcy who are constantly lobbying for conservatives to be banned or demonetized from social media platforms. it worked against Alex Jones and InfoWars so now they are emboldened to attack and attempt to silence anyone on the right who has a following.
How people like Stardust Vibes get sucked into the censorship vortex, I have no idea but they are doing great harm to YouTube’s brand when they kowtow to leftwing crybullies.
Quite a few people, like this fellow, turn YouTube videos into their primary source of income so to have YouTube pull the rug out from under them this way upsets their entire lifestyle.
While, true, Stardust Vibes could remove the channel and perhaps find another content platform that can restore some of the lost revenue, YouTube is the industry giant in this platform so to be pulled does major harm to the content creator.
It is oppression by algorithm, anything that references symbols or words liberals have banned is either not allowed to be uploaded or demonetized by default. If you even say “Candace Owens” or another official “hate agent”, the content is demonetized if not blocked altogether.
