If I am Mexico's PR arm, I say "hey, let's make a show of stopping a caravan, then the silly Americans will think we mean business, and then we'll go right back to what we were (not) doing."

"hey, let's make a show of stopping a caravan, then the silly Americans will think we mean business, and then we'll go right back to what we were (not) doing." BINGO! All for show, hoping Trump gets this news item to make him THINK they're serious.
WE. KNOW. BETTER.

That’s why the tariffs should go on and escalate for a few months ( let them get u to at least 15%), so that the Mexican Government can get a good idea of just how bad it is going to get for them if they fail to interdict the migrants. Ditto for their own citizens.
And an escalating tax on remittances following the same scale ( i.e. starting at 5% on Monday as well). When the Beaners see that we can and will wreck their economy, they will get busy and stop this nonsense.
