Besides Manafort, Mueller also referred Clinton Fixer Tony Podesta, RINO Vin Weber and Obama’s White House counsel, Greg Craig, for prosecution for the exact same unregistered lobbying Manafort had done.

But none of the other 3 are in jail, much less solitary confinement. Podesta seems to have vanished from the face of the Earth.

It is a state court action. There is no Federal pardon available to use.

I would think that the US Solicitor General could sue the State of NY on 8th Amendment grounds to put a stop to this.

"They want to push us too far. I fear they are succeeding, and they are in for a shock when they do."

Bingo.

...and even most patriots missed the full significance of the now 5 year old Bundy Ranch standoff. One itchy trigger finger there and the powder keg would have gone off.

Justice is swift. Justice is blind. Delays in arrests, and worries about optics risk CWII. What the Trump admin is (not)doing is unbiblical.

When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people's hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.

Most people don't quite know what to make of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's alarm about Manhattan prosecutors' decision to throw President Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, into Rikers Island prison.
Thanks libstripper.

And gutless Republican leaders say nothing.

If you are not with a crew, even small, it wont be a fight. It will be a massacre.

I went to jail twice for low level mafia stuff. SO LOW LEVEL that nobody knew me :)

I kicked up to the LOWEST associates on the ladder.

I wasnt even on the ladder :)

VERY LITTLE jail time was MORE than enough for me.

Yeah there were other Italians where I went so I was good, but even those “friends” asked for favors once we were on the outside.

This is all over 25 years ago so nobody cares :)

Or i wouldnt tyoe it.

It was insignifacant. I WAS insignifacant. Almost 95 percent end up broke and/or doing hard time.

What a life.

Who wants to admit they need SHU?

Then you’re a b..ch and you are VERY likely going into general again after SHU at some point. At least back then.
.

Then you are doubly ####ed.

And if you say you want SHU, and again, at least back then, dont get it, man you are ####ed.

And you can get tagged in SHU too if you p.ss off the wrong people enough.

Nowhere is 100 percent safe. Anywhere.

Their treatment of Manafort will be a black mark on the Deep State. They make Abu Ghraib look like a tea party.

Sounds like extra punishment (8th Amendment) for not cooperating, either before or after beginning his sentence. The slimy hands of weissman, maybe? Manafort’s family might want to invest in some protection.

Trump can’t pardon Manafort for whatever they want to charge him with in New York state.

Trump can’t pardon Manafort for whatever they want to charge him with in New York state.

I know this is what they are saying these days... but until recently I had never heard anyone make that point. Was it always true, or is it something that has only become true now that Trump is in the White House?

My favorite series. I own it.

Patrick McGoohan - 19 March 1928, just like Number Six - was prescient.

That has long been my understanding: The Presidency is Federal; interfering in non-Federal charges would violate States’ Rights.

What has been done to Manafort is far more criminal than any crime he may have committed.

We have organized crime running our justice system. I grieve for him and our nation.
