Speaker Nancy Pelosi told senior Democrats that she'd like to see President Donald Trump "in prison" as she clashed with House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler in a meeting on Tuesday night over whether to launch impeachment proceedings.
Pelosi met with Nadler (D-N.Y.) and several other top Democrats who are aggressively pursuing investigations against the president, according to multiple sources. Nadler and other committee leaders have been embroiled in a behind-the-scenes turf battle for weeks over ownership of the Democrats' sprawling investigation into Trump.
Nadler pressed Pelosi to allow his committee to launch an impeachment inquiry against Trump — the second such request he’s made in recent weeks only to be rebuffed by the California Democrat and other senior leaders. Pelosi stood firm, reiterating that she wasn’t open to the idea of impeaching Trump at this time.
“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi said, according to multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting.

I personally think that Nancy is trying to buy time, so that their impeachment extravaganza will play out in the MSM, much closer to next year’s elections. She doesn’t want to waste the sound bytes/photo ops by allowing this to be finished too soon.

This is her ploy to persuade Nadler not to proceed with impeachment. Also to fend off the nutcase base dim voter.

When Pelosi states she wants to see “Trump in prison”, she is projecting. Her father was a well known corrupt thug in Baltimore and she subconsciously wanted him to be in prison. She of course does not want “impeachment” because that would be the psychological equivalent of death and patricide. Nancy is projecting her feelings about her corrupt, brutal father on Trump. Good to know that the Speaker of the House, third in line to be President is conflicted about patricide.
She’s losing it physically but her political instincts are still better than most of her party. A less adept leader would have them plunging headlong into impeachment, to their peril. Pelosi is not holding them back because she loves Trump.

We know Clinton destroyed emails, smashed hard drives, etc. Exactly what crime did Pres Trump commit? Dems have convicted him with out any evidence. Last I checked, we are still in America.
