The U.S. and Mexico failed to reach a deal on immigration issues during their Wednesday meeting.

Officials met just days before 5% tariffs on all Mexican imports are set to kick in, while President Donald Trump was in the U.K. on a state visit. Trump announced the tariffs in a surprise tweet last Thursday, saying they would be imposed “until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP.”

On Wednesday evening, Trump tweeted that “progress is being made, but not nearly enough!” The president said talks will continue on Thursday and that if no deal is reached then tariffs will begin on Monday.

the word Americans includes people that happen to be corpotations that must pay the tariff before entry through customs

The tariffs are taxes on Americns. There is no rationalization out of that fact.

You are foolish to believe that Ford did not pass on the tariff to it’s customers

The Mexicans are not paying the money. Americans are paying

That's the whole point isn't it?

No. A needless tax is a burden even if it is voluntary

We do not have tariffis to feed your ego

Yes, stupid people like you only look at the effect on the next quarter. Intellectually you have shown yourself incapable of extended abstract thought, the effects of a tariff out 1,2 or 10 years. I’ve tried buy you are too damn stupid. You always apply static models to dynamic situations. That what children and immature adults do.

Marx, your spiritual brother, was also in favor of the income tax over the tariff. I wish Marxists, like you, would get the zot.

Therefore for the amount collected is 5% of $135B = $6.75B Which is not enough for the wall.

Is it not enough for part of the wall?

I think the wall was $25B. So a third maybe?

6.75 Billion IS enough for the wall. That’s more than Trump was asking of Congress earlier this year. Also, you’re basing your calculations on 5%. 5% is the initial amount. It goes up monthly in 5% increments if a deal is not reached. Also, I’m not sure if the $135B figure is accurate. It may be, but I’ve also seen a figure closer to $280B. That was in the link I sent you earlier.

Correction. Trump was asking for 5.6 B for the wall back in January. That doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the entire cost of the wall. That was for the remaining portion, so the entire cost would be more than that. How much more, I’m not sure.
