You don’t need a multi-national bloc to fight for nationalism — you just need to walk away from multi-national blocs, and you’re left with nationalism. Each nation can be different — that’s the point.
This also sounds more than acceptable to me.
You do need the blocs for smaller countries. Imagine if Delaware had to go on its own completely.
