Mexico is going to cave, and it's not just the tariffs. We've got the Mexicans over a barrel on energy, and if we want, we can wipe their economy out. Without American energy imports, the Mexican economy collapses.
This actually doesn't make any sense. Mexico is awash in petroleum and natural gas. But the Mexicans just can't get it out of the ground. American petroleum engineers were critical to the early success of the Mexican oil industry. From 1918 to the late '20s, Mexico was second only to the United States in oil production, and it was number one in petroleum exports. But the bounty was not fairly shared, and an inflamed Mexican nationalism booted the American oil industry out of the country. The Mexican oil industry never recovered.
Take a look at a map of the Permian basin, the source of millions upon millions barrels of daily oil production. You'll notice that the geological formation containing this plentitude of hydrocarbons extends well into Mexico. But there is no oil development on the Mexican side of the border. They can't get to the oil without our help.

The GOP Senate is playing into the hands of the Mexican Drug Cartels. These Caravans operate like Trojan Horses where the drug criminals are embedded in the hoards jumping our border. If we succeed in squeezing off the flow of drugs, what kind of havoc will these criminals create without the chemical poison needed to sustain their easy money?
Time to shut the border completely and let the illegal invaders become part of Mexico so Mexico can feed and house them instead of passing them through to the U.S.
Sooner or later the junkie must have their juice taken from them and while it may look awful if they writhe on a bed, in the same way, when these criminals are cut off from their chemical posion they will throw some tantrums, but the short term effects of that (as they over time are rounded up and either deported or jailed) will be miniscule next to the long-term damage they will cause if left unobstructed.
I can’t get enough of that pic...
I wrote and told her I would switch parties for the sole purpose of primarying her. The thing is that now, the one in charge or the RNCAZ is Kelli Ward; she will definitely help.
Trust me, if and when that happens, Mexico will roll out the military and shoot each and every cartel member in the streets while deporting or shooting or jailing each and every illegal that has invaded them from the south.
Agreed
I intersaced with Pemex engineers a while back. The organization seemed dysfunctional at the operational level. They were talented but helpless
The Mexicans have been spoiled by the riches that go to them from people who sell drugs to be put in the veins and noses of US Citizens. When 70+ per cent of the market is here in the USA, why should Mexico drill for oil? It is messy, smells and is burned in those evil cars.
“They have us over a barrel, too. If Mexicos economy tanks, we will have 500,000 refugees a month, more if a bunch of Communists come to power.
It is in the interest of both countries to settle this. Someone will have to be the loser, and that needs to be the cartels. We should do a deal to help the Mexican army destroy them, utterly. This will help Mexico normalize their economy, slow the flow of refugees and slow the entry of drugs here.”
You are making several assumptions in your statement.
1. You think that the number of people who will come over the border is a function of the economy in Mexico not the refusal of Democrats to secure the border. Mexico has always had a corrupt, backward economy that produces little or nothing of value. There was always more opportunity in the U.S. As the U.S. has built factories in Mexico and provided jobs and opportunity and the Mexican standard of living has improved, the number of people crossing the border has increased exponentially.
2. You think that the Mexican government wants to destroy the cartels. The Mexican government does not want to destroy the cartels. The Mexican government and the cartels are part of the same organization. The Mexican government is totally corrupt. It is working closely with the Mexican cartels.
If the U.S. has strong leadership we can secure the border, compel the Mexican government to work with us and end these problems at the border.
Look three or four moves ahead. Once Mexico is proven to be incapable to deal with the invasion, Trump can go after the cartels
Nice thought, but not realistic.
Better to assist them in fixing their problems, emphasis on “assist.”
“....The Republicans and the Democrats are the same party. The Republicans are a foil for the Democrats to keep us divided or wed all be arrayed against a common enemy, which is essentially Congress....”
Yep. It’s called the UniParty. It’s got the RAT side and the GOPe side. Both are just as evil and both are an enemy of the People.
Put the Mexican President in that barrel, and throw it over Niagara Falls.
Yes, the junkie needs to be put in confinement until they go through a medically-supervised detox (cold turkey is a dangerous way). A person who relapses after going through the process, gets a prison sentence. The strategy is to cut the supply of drugs (border wall) and reduce the user population. The Cartels will be livid with the squeeze. The American people will be happy.
Yep.
Border wall, imprison cartel members, shoot those caught after “relapsing” and cut of all drug supply coming into the U.S. and thereby reduce the user population.
Some Americans will have to go though “detox” but they will be thankful for it in the end.
Keep them there. I’ve stated many times here how much I hate Mexico and it’s people. They are, never have been and never will be a friend to the US. I’ll NEVER forget May 1, 2006 when hundreds of thousands of them marched in the streets of our cities waving their damn buzzard rag flag and yelling “Si se puede”! (Yes we can!).
