Mueller Strikes Out. Media Reports Home Run

Color us surprised. The nightly news obsession over nonexistent Trump-Russia collusion isn't abating. It's actually growing! They cannot be shamed. They cannot be shaken by inconvenient facts. It's been established there was no collusion, no obstruction, no high crime that's impeachable, and so what? The media are hammering this collusion theme more than ever.

In the months we were writing our new book, "Unmasked: Big Media's War Against Trump," the most troublesome chapter dealt with Russia. As we went to press, the Mueller report had not yet been released. What dramatic ending would it bring? Truth be told, we expected something, some slap on the wrist in an attempt to justify tens of millions of taxpayer dollars expended over two years. But the ending was a pathetic whimper, not a bang.

And yet they are still obsessing even more, night after night.

The latest research on the Big Three evening newscasts by Rich Noyes at the Media Research Center proves their irrational behavior. Their total Trump-Russia coverage registered at 196 minutes from Jan. 1 to the first Mueller report findings on March 21 but then skyrocketed to a whopping 317 minutes from March 22 through May 31, after Mueller cleared Trump completely on the charge of collusion while stating there was not enough evidence to indict him on obstruction of justice.

Network news reporters are on a new jihad: impeachment. That possibility is being raised in an average of 22.4 evening stories per month in the wake of Mueller's report, nearly triple the 7.7 stories per month during the first part of the year before Mueller concluded.

Do the math. Since the president's been cleared, stories suggesting his guilt have risen by a factor of three.

What a waste of our time, this incessant speculation of doom from the press, repeated thousands of times ad nauseam. The liberal elites believe that if only the American voters had been unmolested by the Russian meddlers, President Hillary would be in the White House bending their Arc of History ... instead of wandering the woods asking what happened.

Despite their proclamations that they are the guardians of facts, the liberal elite wanted to fast-forward beyond that silly thing called evidence and see Trump's ruin as inevitable. Sentence first, verdict later. After that, evidence ... if any. Impeachment was perpetually on their minds, and often on their lips. Month after month went by with no proof surfacing of actual Trump campaign collusion with the Russians. It never mattered. Keeping the doom and gloom is what mattered.

The same reporters who effortlessly spread the fake news that former President Barack Obama was "scandal-free" are now dedicating themselves to the opposite, cementing the proposition that Donald Trump is the worst criminal who ever lived in the White House, even an agent of the Russian government.

These same "objective" journalists who shamelessly whacked away at Kenneth Starr as a modern knock-off of the inquisitor Torquemada were presenting Mueller as the 21st-century incarnation of Eliot Ness. Time magazine called him "the personification of ... the rule of law." But two decades ago, Time trashed Starr as Bill Clinton's scandalous twin, saying, "he still dreams of being found not guilty." The only thing consistent about the press is its partisanship.

At this point, accusing Trump of colluding with Russia is geopolitical birtherism. It's a baseless conspiracy theory pretending to be a silver bullet to the heart of Trump's presidency. It ably illustrates how the press set out to destroy Trump and destroyed their own reputations instead.

The MSM was at the bottom of the barrel in reporting the ‘collusion scam’. Now, they lifted the barrel and they’re digging around underneath. Pathetic

This will continue unabated, and this is why Trump will probably lose the election. It’s not about right or wrong, it’s simply about keeping the narrative alive to the drive-by news consumers, which are the majority of the voting base of America. These people who do not know the difference between truth or lies, because they simply do not have the time nor the desire to seek out truth...they get their news in 30 second blips, believe it to be true, and move on. These are truly uninformed voters who will put the final knife in the back of the US. This is why the Democrats won the midterms, and this is why they will most likely win the 2020 election. And now that Fox has been sold to Disney, they too will start to lean more and more left, just in time for the election.

Yeah, they’ll win the 2020 election, blah blah blah. Except, they won’t. Not only will Trump win a second term; his successor in 2024 will be a Trump. Not yet clear whether it will be Donnie or Eric.

God I hope you’re right! But as much as I want to believe that, then why didn’t we win the mid-terms? Trump had a stellar 2 years, the economy was on fire, 401ks were up, peace was on the horizon, regulations were being cut, business were moving forward, manufacturing was coming back, what was not to love? But the russian/bad orange-man media narrative won. Uninformed voters who believed everything they are spoon fed from the media did what was fully expected. I see and hear it every day with people I talk to, totally uninformed, eyes closed, not a scintilla of truth or desire to learn more. Free Republic is a small minority, just a splinter in the voter log. Most people get their news from the liberal drive-by media, and any shouting done from the few conservative outlets that remain is a muffled whisper to the ears of the dumbed down voter.

Don’t count Trump out.

He knows how to go around the media.

The enemedia reports on his tweets all the time.

There are no longer news networks. They are entertainment shows. They determined that ratings would drop, if they reported no collusion. So they doubled down to keep their viewing numbers.

Unless it’s God’s Will. Without THAT, I don’t want it either. You do understand that a dynasty of Originalist Constitutionalists with Cohones are better than a dynasty of One-World Globalist Open Borders squishes?

“No more dynastic presidencies.”.

I agree to a point. But if it’s a choice between a Romney and a Trump, it won’t be Romney.

You answered it yourself. It was Mule-ears’ job to knock Trump out of the WH. Or failing that, to win back both Houses. Mule-ears knew on day-one there was no case against Trump, but he flogged it, and had enough false leaks given to the media that they were able to steal the HoR back.

They have always been entertainment shows.

Daily the Mueller Report discredits itself, more and more. The polls now indicate that fake news is a leading public concern. The corrupt MSM will have an effect on the weak minded naturally. But I am optimistic for 2020.

Today Nancy Pelosi charged that Trump's tariffs are intended to distract from the Mueller Report. Nancy, I urge you to spend the rest of your days pushing the Mueller Report, and drag your troglodyte party with you! Good riddance!

It appears you and I are looking into the future through the SAME lens.

We may see a Trump in the oval office until the 2032 election.

You overestimate the low information voter (LIV). Rush understood way back in the early 90’s, that liberals actually Like to be lied to. It makes them feel reassured that they are right, reduces the need to think critically, and reinforces their demented world view.

That insight has held up for almost thirty years of reality.

Conceded on both points, but I hope that the situation won’t present itself. Name recognition due to famous relatives is not a qualification for doing the job of the relatives. See Jeb Bush, Chelsea Clinton, etc.

...blah blah blah.

One is foolish to discount the level of depravity that the left will engage to win this election. At this point it’s not about who from their side wins, but rather stopping any look or investigation into their deep levels of corruption and malfeasance.

Donald Trump is not a “shoo-in” and to discount that is a mistake...
