A major witness in special counsel Robert Muellers investigation was arrested Monday on child-pornography charges, after flying into the U.S. for the first time since his cooperation with Mr. Muellers team.
George Nader, a dual U.S. and Lebanese citizen, was charged in a criminal complaint more than a year ago, in April 2018, after he had spent hours with Mr. Muellers investigators detailing his contacts with Trump allies and efforts to set up meetings between Trump campaign associates and a Russian businessman close to President Vladimir Putin.
Nobody connected to the Trump campaign was charged as a result of Mr. Naders testimony. But he was viewed as a key witness in explaining postelection contact between Trump campaign supporter Erik Prince and the Russian businessman, Kirill Dmitriev, in the Indian Ocean archipelago the Seychelles. According to Mr. Muellers report, Mr. Nader was interviewed extensively by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Jan. 22, 2018, five days after he had arrived at Dulles Airport in Virginia.
According to the 10-page complaint unsealed on Monday, FBI agents obtained a warrant to search Mr. Naders luggage the day before that arrival, on Jan. 16, 2018. As agents searched his three iPhones for material relevant to Mr. Muellers investigation, they also uncovered multiple files that appeared to contain child pornography, the complaint said.
The images included 12 videos of young boys, many with exposed penises, including one in which they appeared to be penetrating a goat, the complaint alleged...
