The NBA may be backing down from using the word owner due to racial insensitivity.
After Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green argued against using the term on LeBron James HBO show The Shop late last year, the issue gained steam, per TMZ Sports, and at least two teams have already stopped using it.
You shouldnt say owner, Green said, saying it should be changed to CEO, Chairman or Majority Shareholder.

It’s a Clown World.
Honk Honk!
As a replacement I would suggest ‘masters’.
I live in the Bay Area and between this guy and Steve Kerr’s little temper tantrum on gun control, the Dubs are giving me every reason not to root for them in the Finals.
Not crazy about a Canadian team winning the title though.
those mean ugly hurt my feelings words
why are these blacks so thin-skinned?
I guess ‘Massas’ is out...............
When is the NBA going to do Affirmative Action for white people?
These people are complete imbeciles. How do they function in life?
Wow.
If I work for a company and someone owns the company, it is not in the least bit offensive to refer to him as an “owner”. Only a RAGING MORON would infer that the owner of a company owns the employees, and even worse, take offense to it.
What a load of crap. These people have to get a life.
Not a problem when The State owns everything including citizens
The loons would like to abolish the concept of ownership.
If Boston wins the Stanley Cup and Toronto wins the NBA, it would mean Boston would be the only city in the US with titles in the 4 major sports.
They don’t own the player; they own the team. Anyone who is offended by the word owner is being intentionally obtuse.
You can bet that when LeBron eventually gets to buy his NBA franchise that he will be listed as “owner”. If Kyle Korver is still playing then, he’ll be the only white-guy on the roster. The other players can lump-it.
What are you?....Some kind of Nationalist?!?!?!?
They’re not even a real country, anyway.
Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York? It’s been done.
I meant at the same time.
Red Sox are the current MLB Champs
Patriots are the current NFL Champs
Bruins would be the current Stanley Cup Champs.
Oh FFS. He owns the team not the players.
Grow the f##k up.
How long until the Washington Grand Wizards have to change their name... again?
