The US military has been among the leading components of political/social experimentation for most of the past 60 years. That is true, but not as it wished. During those 60 years it has served as the house pet of some politically radical administrations who had little or no idea of how to best use the world's most capable military.

Yep - I'm sure it was just a coincidence, back in 1945, that when the Japanese signed surrender documents, it was aboard a ship named after the President's home State.
