Key Senate Republicans are pushing back against President Donald Trump’s threat to impose new tariffs on Mexico to stem the flow of migrants, though it’s unclear whether lawmakers will take action.

The president’s announcement Thursday surprised many Republicans who hoped to focus on passing a new trade deal with Mexico and Canada known as the USMCA. That deal now faces fresh peril, a number of GOP senators said Friday.

The current day U.S. Senate is the most corrupt institution in the history of the nation.

Nothing else has ever even been close.

>>>USMCA is much better than NAFTA.

What were your major concerns with NAFTA? Did the couple of tweaks to NAFTA made byy the USMCA address these concerns? Given that the President once called NAFTA the worst trade deal ever negotiated, the USMCA may well be the second worst trade deal ever negotiated.

Mexico is our friend! Why, look at the 100,000 wonderful people they give us every month! In fact, many of those have to travel the entire length of Mexico. But does Mexico claim them?

Nope! Generous Mexico shares them with us instead.

Me? I think we should be sharing too. Let’s share them all with Canada! Flights from Tijuana to Toronto. Because we need to be a giving people too!

.....key Republican “allies” in Congress...? Whom, pray tell, might THAT be? From my observation, any REAL allies he has in Congress can be counted on the fingers of one hand. That’s why a mailing from RNC was put through the shredder this morning. It’ll be a COLD day in........

Joining Grassley in opposition to the tariffs were pro-trade Senate Republicans Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Martha McSally of Arizona, John Cornyn of Texas, Joni Ernst of Iowa and Rob Portman of Ohio, whose votes Trump will need to pass the USMCA.

And, whose votes from constituents just might be needed to secure the next primary nod. (We can do better.)

The idea that First World nations can engage in “Free Trade” with a Third World nation like Mexico is a joke.

If we wanted Free Trade with Canada, that’s one thing, but you cannot have a Third World middle income economy in the trading bloc without negative consequences.

The House Ways and Means Committee’s top Republican, Kevin Brady of Texas, called for a resolution between the U.S. and Mexico to head off the tariffs.

Brady, you traitorous dirtbag. How about calling for a secure border? I am so done with this GOP beltway scum. If Brady was on fire I would not hand him Little Marco’s bottle of water.

“Mexico is Arizona’s No. 1 trading partner”

Arizona doesn’t have “trading partners”. Arizona trades via the U.S..

Headlines you'll never see:

"AOC's Green New Deal Details Irk Key Democrat Allies in Congress."

How about:
"Ilham Omar's continual attacks on Jews Irk Key Democrat Allies in Congress."

or this:
"Nancy Pelosi's threats of impeachment Irk Key Democrat Allies in Congress."

BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTAND THAT THEY MUST STAND TOGETHER TO GAIN/KEEP POWER. And only with power can you get your agenda done. After all these years, all the lost elections, all the failures, Republicans STILL CANNOT help themselves to throw each other under the bus.
