You are absolutely correct. I am “butt hurt”. I am watching the country I grew up in, the country I swore an Oath to protect, 4 years of my life deployed in uniform die a preventable and unnatural death. The country my grandchildren live in. More of us should be “butt hurt” IMHO.

I disagree; suggest reading Graves' "Goodbye to all That". The second part describes the author's rejection of post WWI GB.

But the first section should be required reading for anyone interested in how sheer willpower determined many of the daily battles for emotional (rather than tactical) control. IMO, his most important observation was how the British "owned the night". They simply manned up and went out every night in small unit patrols. They weren't afraid of the Germans; rather, the Germans acquiesced and allowed them to control the night.

Or, to use a very famous battle as another example, the English were outnumbered around 1:4 @ Agincourt. Not only that, but they were foot soldiers weak and depleted, trapped on enemy ground. The French were all horse mounted knights, well fed and rested. The entire country showed up for the slaughterfest. Problem is, it was they who got served up.

My point is, you move past any attachment to how things were, and deal with how things are - even if the odds appear stacked against you. The enemy is either addressed or they're not - it's not out call. Everything that could be possibly done via legal processes ie voting, has been done. So, let's see how this plays out ...
