Check out the affordable housing area in Bedminster, NJ the large development t called The Hills. Its separated from the rest of the town by Route 287, and its made up of mostly luxury townhouses. LOL.
There was a huge study that came out a couple of years ago, led by the Harvard economist Raj Chetty. He found that two of the biggest predictors of low upward mobility were 1) living in neighborhoods with concentrated poverty and 2) growing up in a neighborhood with a lot of single mothers.
In theory, breaking up the concentrated areas of poverty gives the kids a chance to learn from those who have a better life script. Problem is, liberals say it is racist to tell these kids to stop worshiping thugs, punish the violent offenders, demand civilized behavior ... so they typically do NOT improve.
