Democrats nearly torpedoed Kavanaugh because they stole this seat.

And they tried this stunt on Kavanaugh precisely because vermin Republican backstabbers like Richard Shelby and Jeff Flake helped them get away with it against Roy Moore.

I predicted at the time, that if they get away with this bullsh*t smear job on Moore, they are going to keep doing it, and Kavanaugh was the second attempt!

“I think Moore should just retire to his ranch or whatever and lead a private life”.

I agree. He should do what’s best and retire.

I bet he won’t !
His ego won’t let him.

Its Alabama’s business who they elect!
I don’t much care who they elect as long as he is reliable on two things. He can be a complete ass on everything else.

Be reliable on Supreme Court & federal court nominees!

Yes its that important!

It was something like a 1.4% loss, after everyone but his wife slamming him in the press, and Republicans in Congress doing robocalls against him.

Richard Shelby (Alabama's other Senator) got on National Television and urged everyone to *NOT VOTE* for Moore. He urged them to write in someone else.

That year Alabama had something like 23,000 write in votes, which would have won the race for Moore.

Richard Shelby helped stab Moore in the back, and based entirely upon the lies spread by the news media liars.

We lost a seat we should have won because Roy Moore was the candidate. Now, I don’t criticize those who voted for him, or those who think he was treated unfairly. And I don’t criticize Roy Moore for running last time. But if anything, last election revealed the baggage that comes with a Roy Moore candidacy. Maybe that baggage is totally unfair - smears from the left. But it’s reality. I don’t blame Moore for running last time. But if he runs this time, I do blame him.

If he runs, he’s deliberately putting Alabama voters in a difficult position - vote for a guy whose values they share but may have a hard time getting elected, all because he wants to put his personal vindication above the interests of the state and the country. If he cared about the issues he cares about, and cared about the voters in his state, he would find someone who shares his values, and who is not likely to attract the controversy he does, and endorse him. Getting someone who holds his values and beliefs into the Senate should matter a lot more to him than personal vindication -that is if he is a true statesman who puts aside his ego.

Refusal to enforce the law makes him unsuitable for the judiciary. Imagine if a Muslim judge decides Allah’s law supersedes man’s law in court.

No. No. No. No. No. No.

The lying Federal Judges do not get to declare that F@ggot marriage is legal.

The lying Federal Judges do not get to declare that displaying the ten commandments on public ground is illegal.

No rational interpretation of any of our laws can arrive at that conclusion, and the only proper thing to do in such a case is to tell the Federal Judge to go f*** themselves!

I will not support enforcement of made up phoney baloney crap laws decreed from a tyrant throne of the Federal Judiciary.

What is wrong with you that you will support such destruction of our lives and our laws?

What is wrong with you?

I am a Moore supporter also and it saddens me very much that such a fine man was politically assassinated because that’s what it amounts to. He is a very good Christian man who deserves better.

Trump saw it coming. Look at his comments before the sh*t hit the fan with Moore. He knew what the opposition had planned if Roy Moore got the nomination. That’s why he backed Luther Strange, a guy who voted 98% of the time. Bannon and Gorka ‘knew better’, and wanted to build up their cred with the base, so the went against POTUS on this one. They were wrong, and he was right.

That’s all well and good, but Kavanaugh acquitted himself while Moore equivocated and fumbled away the seat.

Maybe things were different back then, but Moore would have been better off saying that and he’s now a changed man than flopping around like a flounder on the deck with his half denial. It killed his candidacy. Trump did everything he could to rescue him anyway, but he can only do so much. Moore can repay the favor by sitting this one out.

Whether or not Moore is a decent guy or whatever is really besides the point. Politics is a profession, and like anything else, you can be a good person but lousy at your job. It’s time to recognize that any Republican who loses statewide in Alabama should find another line of work.

“What is wrong with you? “

Apparently not the same thing as what’s wrong with you.

Luther Strange was damaged goods from the get-go and received an appointment to the Senate for not prosecuting the corrupt Governor Bentley. The very reason the Senate special election was moved up a year was because of this. His voting record was irrelevant. He should never have been appointed and instead done his job as state Attorney-General.

I concur. It really was an orchestrated attempt to discredit him. The people here did back him but his “republican friends” sold him as damaged goods. However, he didn’t do anything to help himself when he was accused of the female allegations. I am not really sure who should run on the Republican side now. We need someone who will wipe the floor with Doug Jones.

He is a very good Christian man who deserves better.

He does deserve better, but at this point I hope he realizes that what he can do to most help his country is to simply throw his support behind someone else who has not been destroyed by the Media-weapon.

We tolerate the media having too much power in this country, and it's long past the time we should have taken it away from them, and then used it against their politicians.

It is the duty of every judge to refuse to enforce bad or unconstitutional laws.

FWIW the congress critter moving up to run for this office is your classic RINO on illegal immigration — claiming to be for border security and against amnesty, but then in finer print for boosting H2-Bs, etc., and for offering a path to legalization, etc.

Moore lost by about 21,300 votes out of about 1,350,000.

21,300 votes after 650,000 Trump-voting Alabamans stayed home.
