The lie that will not die: Most mass shooters are white.
Just Google "white mass shooters," and you will find hundreds and hundreds of stories from The Grio, Root, Salon, CNN, PBS, and Newsweek, right up to the Washington Post, with headlines likes this, from Vice: "Why are so many mass shootings committed by young white men?"
All accompanied with fairy tales like this from the Washington Post: "a consistent pattern: Young, white men with demonstrable backgrounds of mental instability or violence against women taking the lives of as many people as possible."
At least one legacy media outfit figured out, however painful it was to report (and bury in the middle of the jump), that three quarters of mass shooters are black. That was the New York Times.
You read that right: mass shootings are a black thing. And we find them almost every day. Often more than one. In Philadelphia alone, they report one every eleven days.
Let's take a look at the headlines (with links) from a nine-day period ending Memorial Day, May 27. One at a time, most recent day first, until we reach the 26th mass shooting from a black person.

True.... one is constant, and claims many lives every week. One is occasional. For some reason, we only consider the occasional one to be a problem worthy of discussion.

Do you have a link to that definition? Is it three or more shot or killed or either? Must the three or more include the shooter in all cases?

A hoodrat shooting multiple hoodrats in an economically depressed urban area is commonplace, an almost everyday occurrance.

Noticed and did not ignore, FRiend :) I agree that black shootings are mostly avoided in the MSM, and AT’s balance is fine.
However, if AT is, as Ben claimed, putting out a lot of unjustified (key item) anti-black articles, that’s a valid thing to consider, no?
The author shouldn’t have said “It’s a black thing” because even though blacks do it much more often than whites, blacks shouldn’t have to own the phenomenon of mass shooting. I get that. Usually, black mass shooting involves gang warfare which doesn’t grab attention like school shootings or workplace shootings. Of course, white mass shootings are caused by nihilistic leftists, witch in turn is used by other Leftists to smear whites and weaken the American constitutional system and give Leftists more and more power.
Not that I have the inclination or the time but it would be interesting to delve into these “mass shootings” and discover the author’s bias. Is he limiting his “white shooters” to just the US? Because that would leave out New Zealand. So is Christchurch ON the list? But the attacks in Mumbai a few years back? Are THEY on the list as well because that was pretty clearly a “mass shooting”. Without even looking I can know what the answer is.
I’ll judge each article on it’s own. This article spoke a truth that needed to be spoken about a lie told to often.
The grain of truth to the myth of "no black serial killers" and "no black mass shooters" is that while blacks are disproportionately over-represented among other violent criminals (especially armed robbery), they aren't particularly over-represented among mass shooters or serial killers. There's a difference between "not over-represented" and "under-represented", but try explaining that to those who need these myths as talking points.

True. I perused the article at the link and most of the shootings are one dead a few wounded. Most likely there was one intended victim and the others are just bystanders.
I say this because I’ve done some research on mass shootings and inner city violence. Inner city violence, which is mostly black on black violence, is usually directed towards one person, the other casualties are bystanders. Mass shooters go into it with the intent to kill a large number of people. Most mass shooters are white males. Also most serial killers are white males.
Ok, thank you. I was aware of the FBI definition of four or more shot. Seeing the three or more definition was new to me. I can see how changing the standard that little bit would make black mass shooters go through the roof. I find it a dishonest tactic.
I’m sorry but really what the Left dearly wants is to disenfranchise and oppress whites. The Left always oppressed some group because it must have a group to scapegoat, inspire hatred and thus motivate voters.
