The one wearing it has to think long and hard. He’s putting himself in harm’s way, and I can’t tell him what to do. But it’s touching that now it’s fashionable to make a stand, instead of just piling on the nearest Jew. The country that gave us kristalnacht is changing for the better. Even if only one counter-demonstrator wears both a kippah and a big yellow star of David that one time, then if Germans last a thousand years, that would be a much better hour.
