House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings is fighting back against allegations that his wife’s nonprofit organization violated its tax-exempt status and posed a potential conflict-of-interest with the work of his congressional panel.
Cummings, D-Md., blasted a complaint to the Internal Revenue Service against his wife, Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, who sits as chair of the Maryland Democratic Party and runs a nonprofit group and a for-profit consulting firm, as “baseless,” and partisan.
“These baseless claims come from a group funded by right-wing mega-donors known for their political hit jobs,” Cummings said in a statement to Fox News. “I am confident that they will be exposed for what they really are – a fabricated distraction from the important work being done on behalf of Americans, such as lowering the skyrocketing prices of prescription drugs.”

When you run both a for-profit and not-for-profit operation....you need to closely ensure that you don’t mix and match things. I’m guessing that she’s moved a number of elements under the not-for-profit operation to lessen her tax on the for-profit. In this case, she needs to settle up real quick....admit someone else screwed up, and pay IRS. I’m curious what the magic number adds up to.
This is not about intimidation....it’s about ethical use of non-profits. She got caught, and if she repeats this....they won’t look very friendly upon her excuses.

and briefly ran in the state's gubernatorial race last year. The couple married in 2008.
Ms Rockeymoore runs two entities whose operations appear to have overlapped,
according to the IRS complaint filed by watchdog group the National Legal and Policy Center on Monday:

This scam is sophmorically easy to pull off, even for a moron like Cummings. It is very common for shysters in business to open bank ccounts with similar names as the legit buiness in order o siphon off money to hide it from partners, associates, investors, the IRS, etc.
Here's how Cummings and his wife siphoned off huge amounts for themselves.

<><> as the money poured into the N/P, Cummings and Rockymoore systematically transferred monies to the private company with a similar name.
Keep in mind, the private company, unlike the N/P, is exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures like he n/p does
SIPHONINGS A CINCH It’s so easy even a sub-human retard can siphon off money by putting checks into the new accounts with similar names, depositing checks that were made out to the original entity. Even your bank advises that if a check-writer “mis-spelled” your name, to just endorse the check with the correct name.
AND PRESTO: a check made out to N/P Global Policy Solutions, is deposited in the for profit Global Policy Solutions LLC account.
Some might ask how the IRS might close-down M/M Cummings’ gold mine of a scam. The thieves leave a paper trail. AFAIK, each bank records every check that is presented to its system-—..the front and back of each check are copied. That means if the Cummings deposited checks made out to the n/p into its consulting account, the bank would have all of that recorded.

Whenever a politician gets caught with his or her hand in the till, the immediate response is to say the other side is lying and preventing important work on behalf of the American people. I am still waiting to see or hear about the important work done by Cummings’ committee. So far, just the sound of crickets. Likewise, I am waiting for Cummings’ wife to clear up the lies perpetrated by the devious right wing. All she needs to do is make the bank statements, canceled checks and tax returns for both entities available for inspection. No doubt, I will be waiting for a long time.
