It is unusual for the Japanese police to keep the identity of the suspect a secret, especially since he is in custody, which tells me there is more than meets the eye here. Asao ward is in the northern part of Kawasaki; I don’t know of any particular Muslim population there, but that doesn’t mean anything in itself.
