SPRINGFEILD, Ill. (WLS) -- A controversial abortion bill has cleared a house committee in Springfield and has now been sent to the full Illinois House, where it is being debated Monday.
The state's Human Services Committee passed the Reproductive Health Act bill in a rare late night Sunday meeting. The measure had been stalled for months.
The bill would remove abortion restrictions in Illinois, repealing both the state's Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act and the Illinois Abortion Act of 1975. It also would expand insurance coverage for procedures and contraception.
Proponents say the new bill modernizes Illinois' reproductive rights.
"RHA codifies our existing practices and, and this is critical, treats abortion care just like any other health care, because it is," said State Representative Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago).

Proponents of the bill say this will allow unprotected sex without concern for romance, long term commitment or long term financial responsibility.
BS - abortion is murder.
Gotta love how all the bleeding hearts fully support executions of helpless individuals.

The purpose of “abortion care” is killing a baby. That’s not “health care”.
That’s one way to clean up Chicago.
There are some very good men and women
making great sacrafices for the cause of good.
Patriots should be flocking here to
enjoin the battle instead of planning an exit strategy.
Pray the Lord gives us more time
to turn the tide.

“Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD, and against his Christ”.
This is still going on,....... but surely not for much longer.
Patriots should be flocking here to enjoin the battle instead of planning an exit strategy.
Sorry. Been there, done that. 18 months and we are gone. Illinois has no Republican Party. We havent in 20 years. There is only The Combine. Smart money is putting Illinois in the rear view mirror.

[[Reproductive Health Act bill]]
Funny that a death sentence for unborn children is couched in the evil term ‘Reproductive Health Act bill
I thought one human being couldn't own another....
unless one is a mother and the other is an unborn child.
I lived 62 years in northwestern ILL; long enough to see the weakening of the Christian values because of compromise with the devil. The main tool of this decline has been the Democratic (communist) party. I was in the same boat as other farmers, becoming more and more dependent on government. You feel like you have sold your soul to stay in business. I don’t miss it.
I lament the disappearance of the farming community that i grew up in: neighbors helping neighbors, family values (divorce was very rare).
The wife and I have lived in TN for 2 1/2 years now and while the Bible belt is still alive, compromise with the world is weakening it, as my native TN neighbors will testify.
Kill babies and affirm your hatred for the Patriarchy. Can you tell me why you feminists should not be referred to a mental hospital?

My state rep is to the right of many on FR and when I asked why he even invested the time, money, and energy to run, his answer was very much like your post.
The alternative is to do nothing and accept defeat, which is what most FReepers who always make the “Illinois is screwed” comments on these threads would have us do.
It’s easy to tell who the real patriots are.
Things are going so bad in Chicago that journalism majors cant even spell the name of the capital city of their own state.
Dims said that public input and comment would be allowed before the bill left committee. Notification of the 7:08 pm hearing was posted at 6:08 pm on Sunday evening before Memorial Day.
Im sure that allowed plenty of time for all of those who find this bill an abomination to voice their views.
Another example of government the Chicago way.
BASTARDS!!
What is wrong with most of these idiots? Everyone knows about condoms, yet they all want abortions to be ready for their mistakes.
Fuch off Illinois libtards.
Lines being drawn for CW 2.
