I did climb up, saw all the other places - the Nuns, the Observatory etc.

Then went on to Tulum and saw the still colored tapestries in the ankle level opening - the had burlap over them to protect them from the sun but parts were uncovered that day.

Continued on in my rented VW to the near by resort - then rarely visited and rented a cabin, snorkeled and generally laid about.

Next up was another pyramid very steep and over grown - was quite a few people there at the time. Later learn it was were my sister honeymooned.

When I got to Coba and started down the trail toward the monuments, but it was so hot I quit and sat in the shade for an hour or so - then left for the airport and the States

I’m glad you got to do all of that!

I do miss traveling in Mexico - been there a half-dozen times through the years. My In-Laws used to DRIVE from WI to MX and then drive all over MX in the 70’s with no problems at all.

My first trip was to Acapulco with my BFF from High School. We graduated in June, worked all summer at our cr@ppy jobs to save up, then went for 2 weeks in the fall. It was heaven! I still can’t believe our folks let us go, but we met really interesting people and never felt unsafe at all. We went on a cruise on Acapulco Bay gratis a matronly woman who was trying to fix ONE of us up with her obviously gay son, LOL!

Plenty of other stories, but my Mom might read this, LOL! (We were good girls!)

I won’t be going back again, though. Too much crime now. Another beautiful country ruined by drug cartels and Socialism and a very corrupt government. :(
