We ate lunch at a Chick-fil-A today. When we entered the restaurant, the first thing we saw was an empty table that was set up to honor fallen military personnel over the Memorial Day weekend. There was a red rose, a folded flag, an inverted glass and an open Bible, along with text explaining the elements of the display. Click to enlarge:
Chick-fil-A is unabashedly pro-American. I suspect that is the real reason for the animus that so many liberals bear against the company. There was a time when liberals were generally patriotic. George McGovern is a good example: he was wrong on just about every issue, but he was a veteran who loved his country. That is no longer true.
Now, while no doubt there are honorable exceptions, liberals are usually anti-American. They have been taught a twisted, Zinnified version of American history, and they have internalized a Chomskyite view of the world in which all evils are traceable to American misdeeds. Liberals tend to be angry, unhappy people, and it is convenient for them to blame their problems on their country’s supposed failings. Organizations like Chick-fil-A that are pro-America, pro-religion (Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sunday), and culturally upbeat are anathema.
One of my daughters lives in Texas. Coincidentally, she ate lunch at a Chick-fil-A today, too. (She loves Chick-fil-A, so it isn’t that much of a coincidence.) She wrote this on our family text chat:
The very high functioning Down syndrome boy who took our order jogged next to the car as we pulled forward, running our card at the same time and then wished us a blessed day. And then a very obviously gay kid handed us our food. Take that haters.

Having once, ever, convulsively supported Palestinian terrorists against the remarkably restrained determination of the Israeli military to prevent yet another Jewish genocide is another automatic disqualifier. Hell, being any kind of leftist at all is instantly a huge minus, but one wants to be cautious about possible legal repercussions over just what plausibly constitutes a disqualifier on the basis of "bad moral character" or "inappropriate educational background." Bloody useless degrees, customer-alienating anti-Americanism, and morally offensive support for genocide are all easy to portray as justifiable reasons to automatically deny an application, but other leftist characteristics may require more subtlety. Those back-room meetings with company lawyers will be fun. ^^;

Although I eat the original, traditional chick filet sandwich with add myself mayo, the best part of the meal is the seasonal shake.
I don’t have one everytime I go but I do enjoy this treat at periodic intervals.
That’s quite a list and all true.
If this is true, that display was a work of bold genius. While so many other companies are rushing to embrace perversion, CFA takes time out to honor something truly worthy of the honor. That takes guts in today’s world.
I can’t tolerate aspartame. It’s in darned near everything, except Chick-fil-A’s diet lemonade.
Well, since there was that drastic change of management, the stock value has fluctuated wildly.
The gay mafia helped accelerate their climb when they were (and still are) trying to destroy them. America was drawn to them in droves when the boycott was begun. Our local shop had folks standing in line out into the parking lot! They have since added another drive thru line.
They are frankly mostly just ignorant. They know nothing about it other than it supposes marriage, and largely Christian based..
That’s all they know and it’s incredibly successful... that’s the real issue... not that it supports those things but that it’s incredibly successful and people who go there are shown that Christian values aren’t the hate they sell it as day in and day out.
No. *sigh* just in darned near every “healthy” sugar free product. Sodas, ice creams, cereals, syrups, gum, mints, candies, beverage mixes, and even some OTC medicines.
While I compliment your ambition, I would advise you to follow your own advice with any company you start. Even a much smaller, and likely, company would benefit by following the program you authorized.
Such a person as you have excluded might spit on the haburgers or anomously tip the IRS to a bogus company sin.
Thai restaurant? Where???
A very easyway, a cheap way, to enhance one’s liberal self esteem is to not eat at Chick Filet. And then tell everyone, “ I never eat there”
