Mr. Tillis, on the other hand, has publicly opposed the president numerous times. My doubts were in 2016. In 2019, Thom Tillis wrote a scathing op-ed opposing the President on the emergency funding for the border wall and he placed it in the Washington Post, the biggest opponent of the president in media, save MSNBC and CNN.
Whats worse, Tillis co-sponsored a bill with liberal Democrat New Jersey Senator Cory Booker to protect the Special Counsel Robert Muellers search and destroy investigation against President Trump.
When President Trump proposed cuts to foreign aid spending by 30%, Thom Tillis said No.
Thom Tillis voted to bust President Trumps 2018 and 2019 budgets by $200 billion and voted to give Congress a veto over President Trumps tariffs.
Veto power over the most successful negotiating position the President could put us in?
This is what Washington insiders do, they claim to be something that they are not. Tillis has proven, time after time, that he does not have the Presidents back. When it comes to difficult decisions to do the right thing for the American people, President Trump goes one way, Tillis goes the other.
The Senate Leadership Fund, the Washington insider Super PAC that ran ads supporting anti-Trump Senator Jeff Flake two years ago, is now trying to tell the media and voters in North Carolina that Tillis is pro-Trump. I say actions speak louder than words.

And who can forget Elizabeth Dole's voting record.
The Senate leadership is always afraid of the Republican electorate replacing one of their hand-picked worthless incumbents. But that's how we end up with types like Lamar Alexander.
I welcome Republican primary challenges. At the very least it forces an incumbent to vote straight-line conservative for a while!
Tillis and Burr are nothing but moderate Democrats....if there is such a thing anymore.
As usual the GOPe will work hard to defeat any conservative challenger. Even if they have to support the Rats.
Yes, Tucker’s name is getting out there as his advertisements are appearing on the large media outlets. He has already been on FOX News numerous times. He already has my vote.
I’m with you - have it out in the Primaries - after all, that’s how we saved the country from a mass amnesty in 2014 - by taking down Cantor in his Primary.
Where I draw the line is in November - even the losers you mentioned STILL vote for Trump’s contested judges some 99 percent of the time. I doubt there is even a single Democrat in the Senate that votes for Trump’s contested judges more than 30 percent.
And yet, even given the above, there are STILL people here who would rather see Democrats in Senate seats than RINOs - out of ‘principle’...as if that would fix anything. Thankfully not too many, and when I pressed one, it was obvious that he was troll.
Burr and his staff are liars. Tillis and his staff are liars as well. North Carolina may as well have two Hunts. Is sad that a Jessie Helms type is not in office
<> At the very least it forces an incumbent to vote straight-line conservative for a while!<>
And after conducting themselves like good rats for five years, they typically get away with it. Such is the short memory of most voters.
Among other reasons it is why the 17th Amendment must go.
“Tillis and Burr are nothing but moderate Democrats”
You are giving them a pass with that statement! They are both scum. They are worse that the worst Democrat you can name because they are supposedly members of the President’s Party. But they are not alone. Can you honestly say that virtually ANY of the Senate Republicans running for re-election next year worthy of retention? Pick one! We would be better off picking from the phone book! And the flock of feckless turds running in 2022 are no better!
Jim Inhofe
Pat Roberts

Tom Cotton
I’m with Tucker.
ALL Bush League Republicans MUST be replaced if we want to keep our country.
Alexander, Graham, McSally, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Rubio, Tillis, Burr, Lankford, Gardner, Cornyn, Hyde-Smith, Collins, Sasse, Kennedy, Shelby, Ernst, Blunt, McConnell, Wicker, Portman, Isakson, Johnson, Toomey, Rounds, Thune, Daines, Barasso and Enzi are all Bush League Republicans.
An excellent point, which is often overlooked here on FreeRepublic.
Cotton was the only Senator to vote against the Corker bill, I’d re-elect him just for that.
Perdue has sided with the citizens and the rule of law since getting to the Senate, him too.
I don’t think Tom Cotton belongs in that group.
“I dont think Tom Cotton belongs in that group.”
Well that’s one out of 21! Less than 5%!
Here’s the list for 2022, is it any better?
(A couple of these old coots probably will choose not to run if they don’t meet their Maker in the interim)
Chuck Grassley(83)
Richard Shelby(82)
Johnny Isakson
John Kennedy
John Boozeman
Roy Blunt
Mike Crappo
Jerry Moran
Rob Portman
Richard Burr
Ron Johnson
John Hoeven
Lisa Murkowski
Martha McSally
John Thune
Pat Toomey
Rand Paul
Tim Scott
James Lankford
Todd Young
Marco Rubio
Mike Lee
Good find. Thank you!
Great point!
Tragically, we hardly ever knock off these worthless RINOs. Its important to remember your point that all is not lost. We at least force them to pretend to be Conservative for up to a year. If they have no challenger, we dont even get that.
Let us not be fooled, we need to get rid of bad GOP as well as the rats, do your homework
Burr is a poster boy for repealing the 17th.
Perdue and Cotton are good.
Nothing good can be said about the rest.
