Bill and Hillary Clintons Life in Exile: The Once-Powerful Political Couple Now Seeks Attention, Audience
One evening, ... an old friend and adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton sat down with the former president for dinner... Bill, ... looked thinner and more tired ... He is 72 now, ... He was, the friend says, a bit sad, and more than a bit angry. [SNIP]
This guys political brain is still sharpamong the sharpest in the partyand he worries that [the Democratic Party] may be frittering away the chance it has to beat Trump next year.Thats where the anger comes in. And the sadness? He realizes, politically, hes in exile, and to some extent Hillary is too.
This is a tough time for them. For reasons both political and personal, Bill and Hillary, the most powerful couple in the modern era of American politics, stand on the sidelines as one of the most important election cycles for Democrats unfolds. [snip]
They have been cast aside for obvious reasons. Democratic politics have changed markedly since the Clintons ruled Washington. The economic successes of the era were rooted in centrist policies:... balanced budget... free trade. Now, in both parties, there is not much of a constituency for either. [snip]
None of that, of course, is at the heart of Bills exile. In the #MeToo era, the personal has become the political. And his history of skirt chasing... is no longer defensible...When Hillary insisted ... that her husbands affair with... Monica Lewinsky was not an abuse of power because she was an adult, the press reaction was scathing... the furor had a profoundly depressing effect on the first couple... For Bill, it brought up all the bad times, and it showed yet again that Hillary just has no political fingertips. It couldnt have been worse.

...I can still hear that little girl pronouncing his name that way!
What she really said was “More Wire Hangers!!”
This is to soften us up for her late entry and sweep of the nomination by popular acclaim...../s
Clintons. The White House couple who taught America that depravity need not have any limits nor consequences.
Hillary used to make $200,000 per speech and in 2014, she made $1.8 million speaking at 8 universities.
Post-2016 university speaking engagements are now as low as $25,000.
Bill is washed up on the US speaking tour game; yet he still speaks internationally at $200,000 or more. ((Why?))
Between 2001 - 2015, the Clintons made more than $150 million in speaking fees.
The Clinton FoundationPay-to-Play-Scheme took in $62.9 million in 2016 and dropped to $26.5 million a year later.
How come they have never been audited?
With all of these millions of dollars incoming, why did they have to write-off parts of their daughter’s wedding as a “business expense.”
I bet they purchase their grandchildren’s gifts and write them off to the Foundation or as business expense.
Grifters gonna grift. It’s in their blood.
“At this point, what difference does it make?”
What about those two forensic accountants that say the Clintoons owe $400 million to $2 billion in FIT? That should have triggered a major audit...
DRUG TEST ALL PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES
Sic transit Gloria Swanson.
Random UA’s for all government employees...for ever
Well said and right on.
I suspect at the right time they will be audited.
The two biggest hucksters in U. S. history.
Who said crime doesn’t pay?
G R I F T E R S
And yet every time I see them Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” goes through my head. White trash grifters who lied, cheated, stole their way to the top. And won’t leave.
HEY BILLARY! HOW DOES IT FEEL ??!
The top of the DC swamp is overrated...
Good riddance! May we never hear from nor see their faces again.
They ain’t gonna be able to take any of it with ‘em.
And I am educated guessing they aren’t going to enjoy the next stop.
the best end for them...irrelevance.
Agreed. These propagandists masquerading as journalists have no shame
"....The economic successes of the era were rooted in centrist policies:... balanced budget... free trade. Now, in both parties, there is not much of a constituency for either."
(1)Centrist, lukewarm foreign policies gave us malleable, open to the highest bidder government policies. It's the Clintons and it's always about the money.
(2) The balanced budget was a product of hard work by the young Republicans ushered in on the disastrous midterm elections. Wild Willy laid claim to it and the result was his second term in office.
(3)The bought and paid for free trade policies of the Clinton era unjustly accelerated the decline of US industrial might. Bill & Hill didn't care; they just wanted the money.
the best end for them...irrelevance.
