President Trump never revoked former CIA Director John Brennan's security clearance.

The president announced in August that Brennan's security clearance was being stripped due to "erratic behavior" that disqualified him from having access to sensitive information.

But the White House never followed through with the complicated bureaucratic process of revocation, a source told the New York Times.

The main joy of having a high security clearance is being behind the scenes when shit goes down. There’s nothing like it.

True. I still have my security clearance from my days working in Border Security, but I can’t just waltz into the SCIF and look at stuff. I have to be granted access and have a need to know, which I don’t have as an HR weenie.

Thanks for the reply.

Out of curiosity, how long has it been since your security clearance was actively used? Or, how long has it been idle? For lack of a better way of asking it.

It’s been about three years, when I transferred out of my supervisor position.

I haven’t needed it since, but if there was a classified briefing that I was interested in attending I could (if the people in charge allowed me access.)

Thank you! Not so long ago.

I presume (perhaps incorrectly) that a security clearance that hasn’t been used/needed for a long time is automatically revoked. 5 years? 10 years? Some significant time period wherein protocols would call for a reapplication.

We do need to have a reinvestigation every five years. I just did mine; hopefully for the last time.

Has Brennan undergone a reinvestigation? I bet not. Dollars to doughnut he never had an initial.

You’re probably right. How could a guy who voted communist, and brags about it, pass a security clearance? He has the Democrat Easy Pass I guess.
