One of the falacies of this article is that these traits are exclusively masciline. I was raised in a family full of capable, achieving women. One of the best father, stepdaughter bonding experiences was she and I overhauling the engine in a bargain car I bought For her first. She hunts, kayaks, keeps bees, trains horses and is raising two girls to be as capable as her. Oh, and she’s drop dead beautiful.

We took a short drive today to some of my old haunts around Lake Eufaula. Virtually everything is falling apart. It doesn’t just look bad and tired it looks downright seedy. Crumbling roads, erosion, old tired fixtures and structures, rot, rust and trash everywhere. Maybe not the whole nation but surely this part of it is falling apart
I also spent time visiting with a couple of young men who wanted to take the time to learn. What they don’t know because they have never been taught is pitiful. They appear to live in a dull lifeless world. They just don’t even know enough to be amped up about this world we live in.
