There must be a rip in the fabric of the universe.
New York Times columnist Tom Friedman who at least until very recently suffered from extreme Trump Derangement Syndrome wrote on on May 21 that Trump is correct in attempting to reset our trade relationship with China. In case you thought this was a brief moment of mental clarity, he also appeared with Steve Bannon on CNBC and mostly agreed with him about the need to push China into a new trade agreement.

didn’t he recently say that Congress should give Trump the money for the wall?
Since when does the NYT start reporting on factual observations? It doesnt suit them and I find it a little creepy. They need to stick with raving and hysteria. Its their niche.
I’m looking for flying pigs today if TF agrees with Trump.
Tom Friedman= #walkaway
There are some Dems with SOME common sense the Dems are honestly behaving SO BADLY that even Tom Friedman cant drink the kool aid anymore!!! Friedman is also Jewish and just PERHAPS the moving of our embassy to Jerusalem made an impression on him!!!
This is not a real shock. It seems that every time an ultra liberal organization or person that is failing and needs support either financially or voting, they scoot toward the right. This thought process that the liberal public is so extensive and all consuming is just another “line” of the propaganda the liberal media puts out to try to mislead the public.
And it proves the only road to success within a democracy is not the progressiveness favoring or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas without the total concern of all the people. But is the holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation not stopping it but implementing it intelligently and safely.
And some have to fall on their sword to achieve that leaning right stance to protect their interests. Friedman’s the chosen one from the NY times that is losing subscribers to its cheaper digital as they can charge less to try to get subscribers so they are pi$$ing in the wind using him.

I thought the NYT was having a banner year financially
His head is flat
Pigs be flying.
I was thinking that maybe, some Dems were remembering they are supposed to be FOR the American workers, but your answer is probably closer to the truth.
Look at who signs Friedman's pay check, and follow the money. He will opine the way his bosses want him to opine.
Did he clear this announcement with Paul (economic genius) Krugman?
Wow first he agrees there is a crisis at the border backing up Trump; and he backs Trump on trade talks with China!! Rat running off sinking NYT ship? Does he know something? Is this why CNN is laying off hundreds when they called the idea a rumor.
“I thought the NYT was having a banner year financially.”
Who told you that, the NY Times? They are losing hard copy subscribers in huge numbers. If the didn’t have the online stuff, they would be hurt bad. And the online is being used because it’s cheaper. Since that’s the case, replacing online with paper subscribers isn’t going to make the same money.
The digital makes up over 2/3 of their subscribers now. And fancy talking is their business. An example is last quarter 2017:
“For the final quarter, the New York Times reported a loss of $56.8 million, with the bottom line hit by one-time pension charges and a recalculation of tax obligations after a fiscal overhaul passed by Congress. For all of 2017, the company posted a profit of $4.2 million.”

Their increased number of cheaper digital subscribers and their loss of hard copy ones, in being overshadowed by their costs. And they are playing talk around.

Bottom line, Hoss, bottom line.
