Still waiting for a Trump hating Liberal to try and ‘bully’ me.
The difference, however, is that Letterman has the personality of Crumb's nemesis character "Flakey Foont" rather than "Mr Natural."
turned into? He was that long before his retirement. Couldn't stand to watch him.
Johnny Carson had no successor.
He was the last of his talented breed.
Never saw the attraction to Letterman. Im talking way back in the day. Just painfully unfunny and at times vicious to guests. To each his own I guess.
That was not a quote from me that you responded to.
Growing up right outside Memphis that is the only Letterman clip worth anything
Yes, he was at times pretty nasty to guests, even back then. But I thought he and the style of the show was otherwise very funny at that time.
BTW, big liberal Cher, as an invited guest on the show, once called him an a**hole, to his face, on air, for the way he had treated some celebrity friend of hers when they appeared as a guest on the show.
Here is that clip...
Cher Calls Dave An A**hole, at the 3:57 mark of the video
JC was indeed great on the Tonight Show.
However, given that this is Memorial Day weekend, I think it might be useful to point out a 1977 show where Jane Fonda had appeared as a guest. He sickeningly gushed over the communist/traitor for her actions during the Vietnam War.
If you were a big fan of his like I was and I guess in some ways still am, though it's hard to get this out of my mind now when watching old clips from his show, you may want to skip viewing this clip...
Heres Johnnyintroducing Hanoi Jane Fonda...
Heres a gal I admire highly, ... as a person who has taken a stand on issues that at times were unpopular ... called a radical.
Its a funny thing, how people who were called radical at the time are now considered people who were right on.

November 22, 1970 -- During a fund-raising tour for GI deserters, Vietnam Veterans Against the War and the Black Panthers, Jane Fonda is quoted in the Detroit Free Press as telling a University of Michigan audience:
"I would think that if you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist," and "The peace proposal of the Viet Cong is the only honorable, just, possible way to achieve peace in Vietnam."
January, 1971: Jane Fonda raises funds for the Winter Soldier Investigation through a series of benefit concerts. Participants include Fonda, Dick Gregory, Donald Sutherland, Graham Nash, David Crosby and Phil Ochs. Fonda is named Honorary National Coordinator of the event.
February 16, 1971: Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland form "FTA" (F*** The Army), an anti-war, anti-American road show that tours near Army bases in order to undermine troop morale. Skits and songs portray American defeats, soldiers refusing to fight, and the murder of officers by their troops. FTA cast members mingle with soldiers after the shows, encouraging them to desert or to sabotage the Army.
Thanks for posting this.
Highly entertaining, back in the day.
You gotta respect Kayne for this. This is America. It’s your right to support Trump. Unfortunately, at work I’m still in the closet.
I think I actually found that part of his appeal back in the early days. Since I generally have no respect for anyone in hollyweird or the fake news, I actually enjoyed the disrespect he showed toward them. His feuds with the likes of Cher, Oprah, and Bryan gumbel were legendary.
Yes, to a point I agree. But he clearly wasn't disrespecting them for their political views. He, at least in the past decade or so, is probably further left than most of them were.
Letterman has always been a bitter cranky fool a loser that has nothing but the same as all the left has BLAME OTHERS.
That covers the left way party.
