The catastrophic ratings decline for both CNN and MSNBC was no temporary blip following publication of the Mueller report. Both cable news outlets had heavily promoted the hoax of Russian collusion with the Trump administration, teasing the hopes of Trump-haters for impeachment and prosecution for treason. Now, those disappointed viewers have gone away, and continue to stay away.
TV Newser (free registration required) reveals the continuing loss of a substantial portion of the viewership for both cable news networks in the third week of May:
CNN experienced its lowest-rated week since November 2015 in the 25-54 demo. Additionally, MSNBC marked its lowest-rated prime time week of the year in the demo. Rachel Maddow delivered her lowest-rated week of the year in both total viewers and the 25-54 demo. The most dramatic decline was in the prized demo, age 25 – 54, with MSNBC down 42% and CNN down 43%. Advertisers are getting barely more than half as many potential consumers watching their ads in both cable news outlets.

They’ll all try to get jobs on Ellen and The View, but like Wal Mart greeter jobs there are one or two openings around in each Wal Mart for hundreds who aspire to be hired there.
The CNN losers (including on screen staff) are really suited for one job: cleaning and transporting portable toilets.
Don Lemon and some others may get fired for incompetence and then go on welfare but worth a try.
Larry has addressed this elsewhere, but the real problem is that these Fake News orgs are being propped up by satellite/cable subscribers who have NO CHOICE but to pay for the programming.
Liberals pretend to be PRO CHOICE, but when it comes to an OPTIONAL programming choice in news and information sources, they are fiercely anti-choice. NPR/PBS is the beneficiary of the at least some tax dollars...and ALL cable stations are beneficiaries of subscriber monies via the distributors. The cost is built in to the tiers. So their viewership could dwindle (and has) to near ZERO, but because these stations are part of the bigger media conglomerate (PMSNBC is owned by NBC, CNN is owned by Time Warner), distributors are pretty much strong armed into carrying them.
If you want to carry HBO, TBS, The Cartoon Network, etc. you’ll pretty much have to carry CNN.
Plus, CNN is used by LOCAL tv stations...I don’t know how the contractual arrangements work there, but I bet there is some kind of barter or payment system. So there is another way they stay afloat.
One thing John McCain CLAIMED to care about for many years was the ability for customers to pick and choose exactly what stations they paid for...and he failed to deliver.
If CNN was paid according to the number of people who wanted their product, it’d be buried within three years.

The FNC, Chris Wallace audience rigged Gay Love Fest and Fawning all over Mayor, “Pajama Boy” Buttigieg did not go as well as FNC thought it would. “Pajama Boy” Buttigieg is dropping in the POTUS, polls and Chris Wallace is now certified as the soft ball questioner of the Gay Blade, Buttigieg.
