If Conservatives do not hold Trump's feet to the political fire on the immigration issue, who will?
In 28 months as President, Trump has had only one quantifiable achievement on immigration - he reduced UN Refugees from 80,000 per year to 30,000 (which is still the highest in the world).
On every other significant immigration metric, Trump is within plus or minus 10% of Obama’s numbers.
Trump's tough immigration talk that began in 2015 was a total scam - just like Romney's tough immigration talk in 2011.
I understand the frustration.
But I think the biggest impact Trump has had is bringing the issue to the forefront. Yes, many of us here have been aware for years, but the general public wasn’t, and that is changing. I think Trump wants to have solid footing before taking such drastic actions. It may take re-election for that to happen however. No point in doing things that can be easily overturned with the next Administration.
Patience, Grasshopper!
You’re be full of it.
Trump cannot change all the laws Congress passed going back to Ted Kennedy’s Immigration Act. What did Ryan do? NOTHING.
