U.S. ISN'T BECOMING EUROPE. WE'RE BECOMING ROME
Ann Coulter Dot Com ^ | 22 May 2019 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 05/22/2019 7:22:29 PM PDT by Rummyfan

Can we have a quick reality check and acknowledge that what is happening to America is a million times worse than what's happening in Europe and is of much greater consequence?

Conservatives regularly point to the mass migration afflicting Europe as if it's the Ghost of Christmas Future for America. Since waves of Third World migrants began sweeping into the European Union, we've seen terrorism, knifings, rape gangs and riots popping up all over the birthplace of Western civilization. Sweden has gone from a country where rape was essentially nonexistent to the Rape Capital of the World.

It's sweet of Americans to be so concerned about Europe, but maybe they should look at their own country. On account of a mass immigration policy imposed on us by our government, the United States has undergone a transformation unprecedented in all of world history.

From 1620 to 1970, the U.S. was demographically stable -- not to be confused with "a nation of immigrants." The country was about 85% to 90% white, almost entirely British, German, French and Dutch, and 10% to 15% African American. (The American Indian population, technically in their own nations, steadily plummeted -- an example of how vast numbers of new people can displace the old, both accidentally and on purpose.)

In a generation, the white majority has nearly disappeared, while the black percentage has remained about the same, with more than 90% of African Americans still native-born. White Americans are one border surge away from becoming a minority in their own country.

Re: O’Sullivan & Brimelow at the National Review

You forgot to mention John Derbyshire, who took one in the neck for writing an essay (for a different publication) that was critical of American born Blacks.

Just opening thread to say - when I see it is Ann Coulter I have no interest in reading.

It wasn’t always so.

I pretty much stopped reading here.

Understandable - that was an unwarranted (and utterly false) accusation. Ann is being a petulant bitch, again, which greatly detracts from any serious point that she may be trying to make.

And BTW, I think the scenario is more that both the U.S. and Western Europe are turning into "Rome". The analogy can be chased further down the road with comparisons involving the eastern and western Roman empires.

Bottom Line....

If Conservatives do not hold Trump's feet to the political fire on the immigration issue, who will?

In 28 months as President, Trump has had only one quantifiable achievement on immigration - he reduced UN Refugees from 80,000 per year to 30,000 (which is still the highest in the world).

On every other significant immigration metric, Trump is within plus or minus 10% of Obama’s numbers.

Trump's tough immigration talk that began in 2015 was a total scam - just like Romney's tough immigration talk in 2011.

I understand the frustration.

But I think the biggest impact Trump has had is bringing the issue to the forefront. Yes, many of us here have been aware for years, but the general public wasn’t, and that is changing. I think Trump wants to have solid footing before taking such drastic actions. It may take re-election for that to happen however. No point in doing things that can be easily overturned with the next Administration.

Patience, Grasshopper!

Rome had a good run, about 2000 years from the start of the republic to the fall of Constantinople. If the US were to parallel it, it would have a while to go.

“But when she’s right, she is more than just right. She’s darn near a prophet. Conservatives who automatically dismiss her are doing a disservice to the Republic.”

true in the sense that she is not a lefty liberal and she is a free thinker, but her sheer illogical bashing of Trump is beyond belief and poisons the well.
kind of like Pat Buchanan—he’s often right about many things but his illogical hatred of Israel/Jews pretty much invalidates him as a legitimate pundit.

Do you have a data based argument you would like to add to your poor grammar?

Coulter was an enthusiastic supporter of both Romney and Trump - until they walked away from their immigration promises.

Coulter correctly perceived that massive LEGAL immigration and Amnesty would destroy Conservative political power.

New immigrant citizens vote 80% for the Democrat Party.

In a democracy, when you get out voted, nothing else matters.

Trump hasn’t walked away from any promises.

he’s doing the absolute best he can with his hands tied by an inept congress. He isn’t a dictator and can’t just do what he wants. (as much as I wish he could just blow off the nonstop nonsense he has to deal with.)

Actually, we agree.

Trump is completely helpless on the immigration issue.

Unfortunately, Trump forgot to mention that problem BEFORE we elected him President.

That is exactly why I despise her. The constant Trump bashing gets old.

I e’d her and asked why she never blames the House and Senate who refuse to work for the wall. The next day, she did write ONE article, then it was back to bashing PDJT.
