House Speaker Nancy Pelosi snapped at White House counselor Kellyanne Conway after a tense, aborted meeting on infrastructure Wednesday, a senior administration official told CNBC.
“I don’t talk to staff. I talk directly to the president,” Pelosi said after Conway asked the speaker a question, according to the official.
The interaction followed President Donald Trump’s abrupt exit from a meeting with Democratic congressional leaders.
Pelosi earlier in the day accused the president of engaging in a “cover-up” by blocking White House aides from providing testimony and responding to document requests from congressional investigations.
The president responded by saying he doesn’t “do cover-ups” and that he could not work with Democrats on legislation until they stopped investigating him.
In a last-minute press event at the Rose Garden, Trump said he “walked into the room and I told Sen. Schumer and Speaker Pelosi, ‘I want to do infrastructure’ ... but we can’t do it under these circumstances.”

I once worked with a young lady who was going to college and working as a Congressional intern. This was about ten years ago. She had the unfortunate experience of having to interact with Pelosi on a few occasions. She was just as nasty and arrogant as you would expect, according to my co-worker. She treated her like dirt, sending her to fetch something for her to drink like she was her servant. Extremely bossy, and nasty when things didn’t go exactly how she wanted them.

Pelosi has always been awful in front of the cameras. But behind the scenes, she is THE primo power broker. Even Schmucki defers to her.
What this kerfuffle with Conway tells us is that she is getting pushed to the edge by the President. She's testier than usual.
Pelosi is being out-played by the President and it is really p!ssing her off.
When the Democrats portray Trump as out-of-control, they are dead wrong.
Deal makers don't get out of control. But they sometimes give that impression when it can be used to achieve a goal.
When or if Trump seems out of control, it is an act. Pelosi is beginning to learn this.
Pelosi is p!ssed because she is beginning to realize that Trump is five steps ahead of her.
