Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Sunday that growing cauliflower in community gardens is part of the “colonial” attitudes that her Green New Deal will stamp out.
The New York Democrat, who introduced the proposal to tackle climate change by radically transforming the economy, posted a series of Instagram videos filmed in her home state talking about community gardens as a “core component” of her proposal.
“What I love too is growing plants that are culturally familiar to the community. It’s so important,” she said as she filmed a community garden in the Bronx.

When the Bolsheviks had their revolution, they replaced a top down autocracy/absolute monarchy with another top down, absolute, totalitarian form of government. The Russian people were used to not having self-determinism already. This is not the case in America. Free people are not going to let pinhead ideologues control their lives. Sure, there will be some who will support almost anything, but overall it's an entirely different situation in America than self-avowed socialists like Bernie Sanders understand or appreciate.
As far as Ocasio-Cortez goes, who knows what she understands or appreciates. She's a walking leftist cliche machine. Hard to know how much of what she says is an agenda she is being spoon fed by her sponsors in the ‘Just-us Democrats’. At any rate, there is probably a market out there for an AOC doll that spouts leftist slogans.
By the way. There are ~1.5 million people living in the Bronx. She'd better plan on having some really big community gardens.

As every Master Gardener knows, of equal or greater importance than familiar plants is the cultivation of unfamiliar vegetables for their added nutrutional value to the consumers of community gardens.
