According to The Post, Mueller wants to testify privately about topics that aren’t laid out in the lightly redacted special counsel’s report. Democrats hope to get Mueller to say whether President Donald Trump would face charges of obstruction of justice if he were not president. They also want Mueller to discuss his interactions with Attorney General William Barr regarding the investigation, as well as the release of the report.

Sounds like pseudo-legal sophistry for the leftist media and dem talking points. Did they ever ask such a question about Bill Clinton? Be wary of political statements containing the word "if."

Doug Collins: "We've asked since April about Mr. Mueller coming. But every time we seem to get close to Mueller, Mueller just gets pushed on a little bit. Haven't seen a subpoena here, and this is what's really amazing -- we'll get back to subpoenas in a moment -- but just think about that. You wanted the work of the author, but you don't want to talk to the author."

I can’t imagine why Mueller would be reluctant. I’m sure none of the Republican members would have uncomfortable questions for him... /S

He already told the Dems that if he testifies they will regret it..which is why the Dems have dropped having Mueller testify..gee if the Dems really cared about getting the “truth” they would want to talk to the guy who investigated Trump for over 2 years but NOPE, no subpoena no nothing gee I wonder why, sarc..because they know if he did, this nonsense would END and they dont want it to end

OF COURSE THEY DON’T WANT HIM TO TESTIFY PRIVATELY!
He isn’t nearly as useful to a political ends that way!
Hello, McFly

They got his report.
After two friggin years, they got his report.
They don’t want to talk to him because they want to change anything for the better, or make law, or help the country.
They need to make him a tool for their politics of destruction

The first question for Herr Mueller should be....

“Mr. Mueller, did you know from Day One that there was no Russian Collusion, or did it take you two days to know that?”

I’m all for Mueller testifying - lots of questions to ask Mueller under oath. Fantastic television. Senate or House? Senator Graham (3.0) could have a nice go at him. Or Nunes in House.

Mueller reportedly does not want to appear “political.” His solution is to have a closed door hearing. I think his testimony will in fact be political, and when it leaks he can say “Wasn’t my fault.”

Of course he doesn’t want to testify - for the same reason he was never going to find anything about “collusion” or even come up with a cause of “obstruction”. To do so would force open all the evidence that Comey et al want to keep hidden. To charge POTUS with anything (criminal or impeachment) would also mean putting forth all the evidence.

The Democrats are nuts to keep pushing this. They think Mueller is their boy? Well they do all go to the same cocktail parties so they surely hear whispers I don’t know about. But I think those whispers are not really in their favor. This whole charade was fake - fake pretext to investigate, fake evidence, fake news for 2 years leaking fake stories about fake rumors.

These Democrats are dangerous and reckless.

the stated reason for the D’s trying to get Mueller to meet with them... is ridiculous.

A POTUS can and indeed has the legal responsibility to supervise and fire any such person who the president deems unsatisfactory, biased, or just for the benefit of the government. It is the president’s call.

and neither the congress-critters NOR Mueller have been able to come up with ANY illegal conduct by PDJT, not even a silly jaywalking ticket!

so their stated purpose for meeting with Mueller is just plain insane

Here’s some questions I would like him to answer.

1. Were you aware that the creation of the Special Prosecutor was invalid because there was no criminal investigation of President Trump at the time it was enacted?

2. Were you aware that the President is the head of the Executive Branch and can fire anyone for any reason under his power? How can he obstruct justice when there was no crime being investigated?

3. When were you aware that there is no criminal statute prohibiting any American citizen from receiving information or communicating with foreign officials, ie collusion?

4. Why did you continue your illegal and unconstitutional search for a crime even after you determined that no crime of collusion existed and no evidence that it even happened was ever produced?

5. Will you accept financial liability for convicting or referring Manafort, Paige, Papadapoulos, and Flynn for criminal prosecution even though your investigation was illegal and the fruit of the poisoned tree?

It's abundently clear--Mueller is a Russian agent.

We don't stand a chance against Putin. He is just too clever.

The question is, which people in Congress are in the pocket of Russia, which are in the pocket of China, and which are in the pocket of Mexico. I suspect most of the Democrats fit in one of those categories.

Good.

Even if he testifies behind closed doors, if he has any sense and integrity, he will say that he put everything in the report and he has nothing to add.

I bet he is...

“Mr. Mueller- it was clearly obvious the investigation was based on fake HilLIARy data... When did you know that and why did you keep investigating for 2 years? Are you stupid and incompetent? or Evil?”

“Mr. Mueller, why didn’t you investigate the criminal behavior of any democrats?”

“Mr. Mueller, you helped broker the uranium deal to Russia with HilLIARy, why didn’t you recuse yourself? Better yet, why didn’t you arrest her?”

“Once you determined HilLIARy paid for the dossier to frame Trump, why wasn’t she criminally prosecuted?”

“When you realized Obama spied on the Trump campaign, why didn’t you arrest people in the Democrat side?”

“The FISA applications were clearly criminal- why didn’t you prosecute any of those people?”

Etc...
