At the center of the battle over marriage, the popular Christian-owned restaurant chain Chick-fil-A is once again a target of criticism, this time over a $1.65 million donation to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to support summer camps for inner-city Atlanta youth.
The LGBTQ blog Outsports called attention to the donation, saying the companys charitable arm has been continually criticized for its donations to organizations classified as anti-LGBTQ.
Chick-fil-A Foundation Executive Director Rodney Bullard told Business Insider the foundation has a much higher calling than any political or cultural war.
The calling for us is to ensure that were relevant and impactful in the community, and that we are helping children and that were helping them to be everything that they can be, Bullard said.

Iraq...
Jesse Lee Peterson maybe would, but he is on the west coast.
I will take your word for it.
You are 1000000000000% correct.
They’re quite simply the smartest people on the planet.
I know a person. She, more or less, falls into this category(anyone who watches the AOC movie on Netflix and declares AOC their new hero, needs some therapy, right?)...Anywho, a long time ago, she posts on FB some pictures of her and her boyfriend doing some yardwork at her house. There he is, in all is hipster glory, limbing a small tree with an electric chainsaw. Her comment on the picture was something to the effect of....when you have a real man around the house...or some drivel like that. Now, someone wants to use an electric chainsaw around the house, that’s cool. To each his own, I guess.
But to read some of her posts. Things like...Why don’t I have health insurance?...Ummmmm, I don’t know. Why don’t you seek a job that provides it or think twice about voting for the people that made it unaffordable.
You can’t tell them sh*t.
CFA has really good breakfast biscuits.
You bring up a fantastic point. One thing I would love to do is, start a GoFundMe account. Tell the world that it’s for giving inner city kids and the children of illegals an opportunity to get the best education available in the country. Have it be a nationwide program. And as soon as there’s enough money, walk through the front door of Sidwell Friends School in DC, camera crew in tow, to pay the tuition for about 20-30 illegal alien kids. Lets see what the headmaster, or whoever runs the place, does when they’re confronted with that dilemma. And do that at Georgetown Prep and every other private school in and around DC and every major city where all the rich liberals send their kids. Lets see how kind, caring and compassionate when a couple of dozen kids from Central America show up in the admissions office.
An older article but a perfect example of your point...
And the Chik Fil A sauce....You can never forget the sauce.
Just wondering if Muslim camps insist their counselors adhere to Muslim teachings RE sex. I know that orthodox Jewish camps do ask their leaders to adhere to Jewish laws.
Why would a Christian camp be any different?
Also, Christians are asked not to have sex before marriage. I think everyone knows that some Christian camp counselors do quietly have premarital sex. We dont stop donating to the group. So why would we, assuming that there might also be a closeted gay counselor?
No one is perfect. There are gays of every religion.
He’s awesome.
And so is Guillory, from Louisiana and Burgess Owens. The black political and community organizer machine can’t have these gentlemen. They make too much sense, obviously can’t be called racist and don’t fit the narrative. So, at the end of the day, by everyone but Conservatives, they are labeled as extremists, crazy, Uncle Tom’s, etc and they are definitely not give the respect that they’ve definitely earned and deserve.
I had the pleasure of meeting Alan West and Sheriff Clarke at the NRA Convention in Atlanta. Just, good, solid guys. Kind of person you’d want in your backyard for a bbq, smoking a cigar with at the end of the night sharing a nice bourbon.
Exactly so.
Wish we could get that on a tee shirt.
I keep hearing about people projecting their own sins onto others. I knew they were intolerant. Just realized they are tyrants.
LOL!
