Comey Was a Commie?

“In college, I was left of center,” explained James Comey in an interview with New York magazine, “and through a gradual process I found myself more comfortable with a lot of the ideas and approaches the Republicans were using.” Comey voted for Jimmy Carter in 1980, but says that four years later, in 1984, “I voted for Reagan — I’d moved from Communist to whatever I am now. I’m not even sure how to characterize myself politically. Maybe at some point, I’ll have to figure it out.”

Comey was once a communist. And look deeper at his statement: “I’d moved from Communist to whatever I am now. I’m not even sure how to characterize myself politically. Maybe at some point, I’ll have to figure it out.”

Which leaves us wondering if James Comey has yet figured it out.

Kudos to Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge for unearthing this gem from an interview Comey gave to New York magazine back in 2003 when he first arrived in Washington.

This odd blast from Comey’s past explains some things. While somewhat surprising, it actually makes sense, because James Comey is politically puzzling. You can’t quite figure him out, and apparently neither can he. He’s hard to pin down politically, to take seriously. He’s sort of a political-ideological enigma, a jester (clown seems too harsh). This weird communist statement is kind of instructive.

Granted, James Comey did full penance in 1984 by swinging all the way to the other side and voting for Reagan. He was far from alone. I could rattle off names of individuals who were once communists but by 1984 joined the rest of respectable America in voting for Reagan.

I have no doubt that the communists and leftists have infiltrated themselves into the Republican party, maybe even the Tea Party. They are everywhere and I believe they think we are now in a place where they can show themselves. From political clubs to the Vatican.

He didn’t “move” at all; he deliberately obscured his core beliefs to infiltrate the system. 16 years after this interview we see the damage he was able to do using this subterfuge.

Even for a scummy squish like Comey, this is a bit of a shock to hear.

For him to have been the FBI Director and to say that, he is either he is so shallow and vapid that it is difficult to classify him as an adult or serious person, or he has damn well figured out exactly what he is and is too dishonest to say aloud.

I think the answer is he is both shallow and dishonest.

Its a mistake to define Comey as a hard core Marxist/Communist. Suburban Catholic boys from New Jersey with a wife and four kids become useful idiots to the Communists but usually not top leaders. Also such people are often conflicted, have issues with conscience, are narcissistic and have a primordial fear of prison. Of all the conspirators he is most likely to flip to avoid prison. Also there is a good chance he has recorded conversations and documents to trade for a lighter or no real sentence for his crimes. Hopefully he will be arrested soon and at least some of the truth will be revealed at trial.

I actually do know what you are talking about. It sometimes reminds me of this scene from the movie the 6th Sense. Many of them don't realize that their points of view are highly conflicted and blather on about liberal nonsense while still thinking that they are a conservative. It is a weird result of constant leftist indoctrination from our media, schools and other institutions. I got into a conflict here last week with a guy who loves windmills and hates dams, a decidedly leftist position. But he was a retired fisherman, so he had an excuse... I guess. Confused individuals are "everywhere".

Add “And lifelong Republican James Comey..” to the list that includes “Illegal aliens are less likely than US citizens to commit violent crimes...” and “At its heart, Islam is a peaceful religion...” And Trump, who is a racist...”.

If I had a nickel for everything the liberal pundits say those things without getting called on them...
