District Judge Amit Mehta on Monday ruled in favor of a subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee for President Trump's financial records from the accounting firm Mazars.
In a 41-page-long opinion, Mehta found that "President Trump cannot block the subpoena to Mazars."

I am probably showing my ignorance here, but Donald Trump was a private citizen 10 years ago. They are asking for records 7 years before he entered public service. Who was in charge of the IRS and Dept of Justice during those 7 years? Why the Democrats, of course. If there were any evidence of tax wrongdoing during that time, I’m sure it would have been no trouble to hand down indictments. Yet there weren’t any. So what kind of ‘legislative purpose’ does getting his tax returns serve?
