Further, her husband is not Jewish. If she was the least bit interested in that portion of her heritage that is Jewish, she’d have married a Jewish man.
That all said, the answer to: “What does she know about Christian theology?” is probably somewhere between zip and zilch. I’ll leave that one to people more expert in Christian theology than I (I’m Jewish).
America was founded by (and largely for) people willing to bet everything on the belief that there’s no theological question so weighty or complex that it can’t be resolved by an ordinary believer flipping through the Bible. Nowadays even Catholics believe that. It was Fr. Ronnie Knox who said a century ago that America is the happy hunting ground of religious sectarianism.
