Late last week, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination condemned pro-life efforts to protect unborn babies as "against Christian faith." Specifically, she slammed Georgia's law protecting unborn babies from the moment a heartbeat may be detected in the womb. Rather than addressing serious science and faith concerns about the humanity of the unborn and the Christian tradition of defending life, Gillibrand defended abortion by referencing free will.
"If you are a person of the Christian faith, one of the tenants of our faith is free will. One of the tenants of our democracy is that we have a separation of church and state, and under no circumstances are we supposed to be imposing our faith on other people. And I think this is an example of that effort," the 2020 candidate said.

Well, the devil knows scripture very well and will bastardize it to meet his ends.
The left is as clumsy with scripture as a toddler with a power tool.
The free will to murder?
Thats not Christian or Democratic.
Par for the course for totalitarian regimes like Gillibrand and Buttgood are pushing though.
It is better to be thought a fool and remain silent...
Must be a United Methodist
Note to Kristin: See Exodus, Chapter 20, Commandment #6. The commandment consists of just four very clear words. It’s unambiguous.
Something to with us all having a soul, I think. This is at the core of the Christian belief.
She is Catholic.
The people pushing the laws are Protestant.
SO therefore it must be opposed.
Were I live it is the same situation. The most liberal people pretend to be Catholics.
Now the one that actually know what they believe are different. As many on here are, there are great pro life Catholics. However most say “since the Republicans hated immigrant Catholics, we will oppose everything they stand for!”
This whack-a-doodle has gone off the deep end!!
Actually she is Catholic
No that would be Catholic in name only!!!
Made up to drive Christians from the public discourse.
“One of the tenants of our democracy is that we have a separation of church and state...”
The separation of church and state is indeed found in the Constitution, the Constitution of the old Soviet Union that is.
Our Constitution limits the government from establishing a religion or interfering in the practice of religion, but it in no way separates religious belief and practices from the operation of government.
Talk about Highway to Hell!!!
By the way, free will is NOT one of the tenents of Christian faith.
If she has not be publicly excommunicated, she is Catholic.
If I did this, my church would have some rather quick messages up to and including kicking out.
“One of the tenants of our democracy is that we have a separation of church and state...”
My objection to abortion is not based on religion, but on simple respect for human life.
Kirsten, I will be happy to sell you a clue.

Democrats who try to use Scripture to justify their positions always twist it to mean the opposite, just like the snake in the Garden.
