Illinois Republicans unhappy at the influence the Democrat-controlled city of Chicago holds over the state are looking at trying to blow the Windy City out of the state altogether -- despite the long odds that such a push would face.
A new report by Pew Trusts' Stateline shines light on an effort by the state’s GOP to turn the state red by turning the blue city into its own state.

That would create 102 senators with no guarantee that two of them will come from non-Chicago.
We need to boot Chicago out of the country.
If the Illinois Republicans are this powerful, why don’t they simply disband the City of Chicago? They could split the territory among neighboring localities while keeping the State intact.

The deal for Chicago would be a 2 for 1 trade. Create the state of Chizzlevania out of Cook and several surrounding counties. In return, creation of the State of Albufacuse (upstate NY) and the State of Corntopia (downstate IL.)
Simply overturn legislatively the “one man one vote” dictum from the SCOTUS! Doing away with having bicameral State Legislatures was the beginning of big, Rat-run cities reign of democratic tyranny on the rest of the country.

Even better. I fail to trust anyone associated with the GOP not to really screw something like this up. And end up with 4 evil senators vs 2. The folks who can afford it will just leave the city and continue voting D. Because they don’t believe that’s the problem.
BAD IDEA RESTORE THE pre 80 ILLINOIS CONSTITUION
Before the so called reform of the Illinois state constitution in the 80’s The Illinois state constitution called for 3 state representatives for each state Rep district. Two were from the majority party and one from the minority party.
During that time there was an active Republican party in Chicago. While the Mayor was held by the democrats the city council did have active Republican Republicans and some of the Cook county positions Sheriff and President were held by Republicans. it’S THE REASON REAGAN GOT ELECTED AND CARRIED uLLINOIS
NO CITY STATES !
