Not much for music any more. A soldier called in to the Viet Nam radio station with a song request. The Disc jockey said what do you want me to play? The soldier answered I don't cadre just play it LOUD, I am artillery.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
HAROLD ARLEN
AT THE CIRCUS: LYDIA THE TATTOOED LADY
The song ran right up to the edge of being bawdy without crossing the line. This is a clip from another MGM classic, The Philadelphia Story from 1940, where the supposedly well-bred daughter of the family breaks into the first verse of this song. Virginia Weidlers fractured French, supplemented by Katherine Hepburns fractured French, is hilarious in its own right.

Good evening, mountainlion...are you covered in snow?
We had a HUGE thunder storm last evening, with pouring rain. Only lasted about an hour, but thunder is so very rare. Everywhere around us I could see blue sky as the rain pounded down. It even hailed.
I can imagine an artillery guy needing lots of volume. LOL!
