If Democrats get their way religious hospitals would be forced to perform abortions, Christian churches would be forced to host events that are contrary to the Bible’s teachings and Christian schools would be required to accommodate the preferences of transgender students regarding athletic teams and bathrooms.
The House voted 236-173 to approve the “Equality Act,” legislation that would expand the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include sexual orientation and gender identity. It would also protect on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition.
But it would also completely obliterate the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a law that stops government from encroaching on a person’s religious liberty. In other words, the Equality effectively puts a bullseye on every person of faith in the nation.

The renegade Republicans include: Rep. Brooks (IN), Rep. Diaz-Balart (FL), Rep. Fitzpatrick (PA), Rep. Hurd (TX), Rep. Katko (NY), Rep. Reed (NY), Rep. Stefanik (NY) and Rep. Walden (OR).

Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) told The Todd Starnes Radio Show that the bill will “erode the First Amendment and totally destroy religious liberties.”
“This is an attempt to silence the Christian voice,” Hice said. “This is going to literally empower the federal government to force people to contrast their deeply held religious beliefs.”
“Christians will be forced to violate their beliefs if the Equality Act passes,” declared a headline on Christian Broadcasting Network.

Ah, but it’s for EQUALITY, and that’s good because everybody is equal . . . except for Christians, who should be fed to the lions or something. That is how the millennials see it because that is all they have heard in school and through the media from day one.

I knew this was coming!! All those MEGA prosperity churches are so screwed! These churches are afraid to take a stand against sin and instead welcome with open arms all things that are against God’s teachings! The homosexual community came after a baker next will be the church. They’ll file lawsuits against these churches if they are not allowed to marry in their sanctuary BY THE PASTORS! Not co-pastors BUT THE CHURCH MAIN PASTOR! This is what happens when a country turns their back on God, God is not turning the other cheek anymore!

That should to be enough right there to bring this nation to the brink of civil war... The federal government has no right to tell the individual nor the private company in what ways to worship GOD... But, because our young folk have been taught the commie way in our public schools, there is NO chance of civil unrest ever happening in support of Christianity...
I have already written my turncoat Representative to complain and have little faith that Senators Scott and especially Rubio will hold ranks and uphold religious freedom. If passed in the Senate, I would hope for a presidential veto. If passed, people of faith will have to mount a massive lawsuit and get this before the Supreme Court. What are we? Canada?
One cannot be a Christian and be a Democrat. Apart from their policies they formally allied themselves with Satan at their 2012 convention.

I forgot who said Americans should never see their laws or their sausages made. The way Congress works is representatives trade their votes. I’ll vote for your abortion bill if you vote for my bridge to nowhere bill. If they really care, they’ll do a political calculation on whether the bill has a chance of becoming law. With Trump in office this bill has zero chance of becoming law. But the eight Republicans will call in the favor for their future bill, whatever it is, and we may have a dozen Democrats voting in favor of, say, a school choice bill or English as a national language bill. It sucks, but that is how it works.
